Sorry about not posting yesterday. @.@ I got a bit carried away saving Japanese Pokéon fanarts I found on some websites I happened to stumble across, and wasn't paying attention to the time. Next thing I knew, it was time to make fun o-- er, watch Inuyasha. ^^;; My Mom officially thinks I'm insane-- I spent the entire episode talking to the screen. Lecturing Kagome about how she shouldn't be there, in particular. Actually, we [my friends and I] saw that episode at Anime Expo, thought it was ridiculous, and laughed hysterically over certain parts of it. Kirara and Shippou are particularly cute in that episode, though. <3

Poor Cody. He got angry with Joey (who is very, VERY annoying) and punched him (not typical of Cody...), and then felt bad about it afterwards. He asked what he could do to make up for it. Now Cody has to cosplay as Joey for an entire week. -_-;;; This is not good--Joey normally wears Hawaiian-type shirts and generally dorky things, so... ^^;; It's immensely strange seeing Cody running around in tropical T-shirts in the winter. The other option was cut his very anime-like hair (which is an even more horrible thought), so he didn't really have a choice. It's just an odd little tidbit I thought I'd share with you all.

My school is having a Penny Drive to support the Make-a-Wish Foundation, and my Creative Writing class might win it. (It's a competition for whoever collects the most pennies. Points are deducted for all silver change or dollars, so you're allowed to sabotage other classes by planting silver change and dollars. >D) It ends tomorrow, and we have about $247.50 so far, and that was just the total for today. ^^;; That's 24,750 pennies for those who are not math-inclined. :P Mrs. McDaniel is so proud of us, she's going to buy us donuts tomorrow. ^_^ Yay! I'm bringing in at least 500 pennies, too, and whole knows what the class can scrape together. I just hope no one else brings in $70+ dollars in pennies for Ms. Lynne's class like what has happened the last two days--although Ms. Lynne is arguably the coolest teacher EVER (let us watch anime in class last year at least ten times), she's not my teacher this year and I want my first period class to win.

For anyone in doubt about how anime can be educational, consider this example.

Alyssa did not understand how genetics works. So Nicole decided to help her out with a harmless litle example.

"Let's think in Gravitation terms for a little while. Eiri is the seme, Shuichi's the uke. This means Eiri is dominant, and Shuichi is submissive. Right?"

"Mmm-hmmm."

"Now, back to genetics. The dominant gene is like the seme--it's on top. The recessive gene is the uke, so it's submissive and on the bottom. So, the dominant gene usually overpowers the recessive gene. Only if there are two recessive genes--two ukes, in a sense, will the uke get to be on top. Get it?"

She did. XD;

Now for mixed genes.

"Inuyasha's not a demon or a human--he's a half-demon. This is, in a sense, like if you breed a red rose and a white rose, and get a pink rose. It's a mixed gene--a combination between the two into something that neither parent was. See?"

She did. XD;;

Anime is ultimately helpful, y'see.

I'm quite engrossed in the book I'm reading. It's odd and complex, and I'm finding myself surprised at how much I enjoy it. It's called Beloved. The writing style is confusing, and the timeline seems to have no logical sense to it, but a lot of the plot is intriguing and some of the ideas are similar to something I would write. It's a brutal book, though. I'm 100 pages ahead of the class, and we started reading it two days ago.

Speaking of which, in English we went to the Book Fair. It was a Scholastic Book Fair...at a high school. A bit below our level, methinks. XP I found some Pokémon bookmarks, though.

We had Anime Club again today. It was a short meeting-- Mr. Davis wanted us out of there by 3 PM, so we only had time to watch episode 2 of RahXephon. Not much time for discussion. However, I walked around campus with several friends after it was over. Makayla and I went to the Book Fair and they had a chocolate-testing thing. It was $5.00 admission, so I couldn't pay (having spent all of my money on Ebay/the Penny Drive), but Makayla shared her spoils with me. ^^ Yay. They had good cake there. @.@ Greg gave me a Pokémon poster with Deoxys and all the Hoenn Pokémon, which is cool. I have to find somewhere on my wall to put it.

A funny thing happened, merely out of coincedence-- I was comparing RahXephon and Eva to some friends as we walked towards the library (where the Book Fair is), and JUST the moment I brought it up, Erin's boyfriend Steve walked past in an Eva shirt. We all started cracking up. X3 You had to be there to understand just how perfect the timing was, though.

Makayla's mom picked Makayla and I up from school (my Mom was at a meeting in Sacramento) and took me to Dad's so I could wait for Mom. And--HOORAY!--two of my packages came. The Gravitation Fan Book #1 (manga) and the Limited Edition of the Wolf's Rain manga. I like the nifty box and the card, and it'll certainly be nice to actually be able to read more than half of the manga (stupid kanji... -_-;;). Makayla and I watched RahXephon 3-5 while waiting for my Mom. Makayla loves it, which makes me happy. It's such a complex show, and so much fun to watch. Also, Makayla's cat is called Buchi (the name of a cat in RahXephon, too), so we were laughing over that.

Mom's kicking me off so I can do chores. >.< Gomen for not commenting in your journals or replying to much at all--it's crazy here when I'm at my Mom's (with the dial-up and the pets [who I love] and all that). Ja!
