Bow to me, minions!
Nov. 18th, 2004 05:50 pmI'm the absolute dictator of the Anime Club now, and I'm lovin' it. >:3 We just had our first meeting under my rule, and it was much, much more fun than when anyone else was running it. We watched the first episode of RahXephon, and *gaspshockandhorror* everyone liked it. A serious flaw of the club last year was that it seemed that no matter what we watched, about half of the people would love it, and the other half would hate it. Anyway, yeah--I've befriended everyone in the club, and they all seem to look up to me and respect me. I have POWER! After the club had to disband for the day (our club supervisor, Mr. Davis needed to go early), we stood around and discussed anime for at least an hour. Mostly Cowboy Bebop, Wolf's Rain, and RahXephon because...well, I was in the discussion and that's what happens when you let me into a discussion. That's not the point, though. It's nice to actually have the club be functional, and for us to actually be able to have intelligent conversations and such. There's finally at least a slight sense of unity.
In other news, I listened to the Origin of Mewtwo Radio Drama, and I LOVED IT. I speak just enough Japanese that it didn't lose me even once, and it was just a cool experience listening to it. I was all excited because I could picture it all playing out in my mind and I was just sitting on my bed for the entire Radio Drama, listening and looking at the pretty booklet that came along with it. I had lots of fun doing that. It also makes me feel rather competent to be able to get the gist of what's going on, even without the aids of visuals. Now I know I'm not just guessing at everything. XP
I downloaded essentially all of the AMVs I saw at Anime Destiny, and, needless to say, they're excellent. I love having so many AMVs to watch whenever I want! There are quite a few extremely good new Wolf's Rain AMVs I hunted up, too, including one TsumexToboe one, one that centers around Darcia, and several off songs on the actual Wolf's Rain soundtrack that were nicely executed. Also, I finally figured out how to watch the AMVs I burned onto a VCD AGES ago to work on my DVD player. It's fun watching AMVs on the TV instead of the computer.
I'm sorry that I haven't been writing as often lately-- LiveJournal was down on Tuesday, and that was the day that I really wanted to write in it. A good chunk of yesterday was spent writing a bizarre story about a half-wolf and fire and strange paranormal happenings. When I say bizarre, I mean bizarre. I'll post it here if anyone wants to read it (just ask!).
Ummm...what else deserves mention in my life?
We were driving in the car the other day, and I heard a song that was this masculine-sounding guy singing "I'm a pretty man! I'm a pretty man!" I can't remember the rest of the lyrics, but my mind automatically went "Bishounen!" I'm not sure why I remembered that, but my mind works in strange ways. I can't control it.
Also, Cody has been really cuddly for some reason lately. O_o; Nicole and I keep giving him hugs. Not that we don't usually give him hugs every two seconds (we do, because we luff him dearly <3), but this is even more obsessive than usual. Trevor keeps trying to rape Ricky. Well, more like trying to give him affectionate hugs (just because he can), but still... This is all because I was trying to prove to Marina that TsumexToboe wasn't big enough of an age gap for it to matter. Don't ask how we got from TsumexToboe to Trevor chasing Ricky around, because I can't really explain how that works. Then today during passing period between Lunch and 6th Period, Trevor was telling Nicole and I about his rather...*cough* interesting dream about Cody. O.o;; For those who don't know, Trevor is rather...infatuated, shall we say, with Cody. XD I have really weird friends. Trevor has a girlfriend, too, which makes it even more twisted.
Nicole and Thomas had a grudge match of not hugging each other. XP Thomas wanted to know some random thing she said (that had nothing to do with anything), so he was like "Fine! I won't give you a hug 'til you tell me what it was!" So then they had this competition of who would crack first. Thomas cracked first. Nicole won the bet, and Thomas still doesn't know what she said the other day. I don't know why he's so interested in what she said (it wasn't even interesting or relevant at all), but it was funny to watch this whole exchange.
It's funny how the fact that we aren't romantically attracted to anyone translates into us hugging everyone in sight. XP Because we do.
Jessie's trying to get us to refer to her as male again. ^^;; That girl takes "Yaoi Fangirl" to an entirely new level. For a while, Nick thought she was actually a guy, and he was still attracted to her. But he'll be attracted to anything that moves, so it's not that suprising. It's still weird he thought she was a guy. I've said it before, I'll say it again. I have weird friends.
Y'know, my life would make a funny anime. We're all a bunch of weirdos that fit into some basic archetypes, only with those real-life twists that make them even more hilarious. That would be one huge cast of characters, though, because I probably have at least fifty good friends, and none of them could be left out because they're all so entertaining.
I'm going to go do my Trig homework and study for my Japanese final now. I feel like I'm forgetting a bunch of stuff I wanted to write about, though... ._.;; I'll have to think about it tomorrow at school.

Date: 2004-11-19 03:10 pm (UTC)And tell Cody I'll give him all the cuddling he wants. ;_; Even though I, like, can't. ^^;
It's funny how the fact that we aren't romantically attracted to anyone translates into us hugging everyone in sight. XP Because we do. That's so true for me, too. Except no one will let me hug anyone. ;_; It's so lonely here. You have awesome friends.

Date: 2004-11-20 01:07 pm (UTC)That's just the thing-- Nicole and I cuddle Cody so much he gets sick of it sometimes. ^^;;
That's sad you can't hug anyone. ;_; The people in my high school are pretty laid-back, so you could hug pretty much anyone and no one would care. In fact, we were eating lunch the other day and Greg went up and hugged some random girl for no apparent reason. She kind of raised her eyebrow at him, but wasn't overly perturbed by it.
You need to move here or something! XP Then you could hug everyone and be in the Anime Club and be Cody's stalkers with us and all that fun stuff. ^^;;

Date: 2004-11-21 10:37 am (UTC)Oh, oh, lookie what I found! I'm going to get a Yuki/Shuichi shirt (see today's post), but this would be *perfect* for you!

Yay. ^^ I don't wear long-sleeved shirts, though. That's why I'm only going to get the Yuki/Shuichi one, instead of buying all the Gravitation shirts (they either have too long or too short of sleeves by my odd standards).
