Wow, I actually have time today...
Oct. 17th, 2004 01:31 pmMrrr. I'm just hanging out today at Dad's and waiting for Mom to call. (She's sleeping right now because she worked a 12-hour night shift last night.)
I have done absolutely nothing productive today.
Wait, I lied. I actually did work a little on my Wolf's Rain fanfic. Writing Tsume as a human is hard. I spent a good deal of time wondering what Tsume would sleep in, and came to the rather...interesting...conclusion that the only thing it would be in-character for him to sleep in is nothing. Well, I decided I didn't want to write about Tsume sleeping naked (or anyone else sleeping naked, either), so I just dropped the entire subject of what he was wearing when he slept and said that he changed into his clothes when he woke up. I didn't say what he changed out of (or didn't change out of, in this situation), he just changed and that's all we need to know. XP
Okay, thoughts on dubbed episode 30 of Wolf's Rain-- NO BLOOD EDITS. OMG. No, seriously--all those puddles of blood, and flying blood, and blood streaming down Hige's body was all left in. Miraculous.
They cut out a little of Darcia's dialogue in the beginning, which was...eh. Not *too* big of a deal, but it would've been nice if they had left it in. Steve Blum did an awesome job with the voice acting of Darcia-wolf, BTW. If I ever meet him again (met him at Anime Expo this year), I'll have to compliment him on that. Kiba still didn't seem intense enough in some of his lines, I still don't like Cheza's voice, but everyone else did a good job.
The [adult swim] newbies are officially confused. Not only have they never seen the opening theme (which is essential to understanding the ending), they also cut out Kiba's foot hitting the puddle and cut straight to Gravity. X.X How does that make any sense? It doesn't! You *need* Stray in order for it to make sense! *Snarls*
Oh, and as I have been discussing with TRF-Chan, Inuyasha somehow managed to transcend its usual cheeziness in order to be completely and totally adorable. I don't think I've ever enjoyed an episode of Inuyasha *half* that much before. I kept talking to the television and making little squeaky noises and loving it and wondering if I was seriously losing my mind. Just read the comments in yesterday's entry if you want any more on that. ^^;;
I also watched a little bit of Sympathy for the Devil (Cowboy Bebop, for those who don't know). Not much to say on that--I've already seen it about a trillion times and nothing has changed. It's still a totally awesome episode, still creepy, and still very fun to watch. Gotta love that Cowboy Bebop! It never bores me, even though I've seen it so many times I basically know it by heart. ^^
When I got to my dad's at about 10:30 PM, I was feeling really inspired because of a combination of Wolf's Rain, Cowboy Bebop, Inuyasha (!), music, and the cool atmosphere outside (the sky was this ruddy-red color from the smoke and the clouds being lit by the lights of the town), so I went right ahead writing this entirely plotless, weird little Pokéshipping drabble. It doesn't make much sense, and I don't think it's going anywhere, but it was fun to write nonetheless. I think my Creative Writing class has gotten my creative juices flowing again. Now, if I only I could muster the amount of energy to write more of Darkness Doesn't Cast a Shadow, it would be great. Seeing as I got some fan-mail for it the other day, I'm now feeling a little more inspired to get myself back working on it. I would absolutely love to finish it...
When I saw that sky last night, Hitchi, I thought "Hmmm, I should take a picture for Hitchi!" but it was really dark and you wouldn't have been able to see anything anyway. I didn't have my camera, either, and I still don't. ^^;; *Left it at Mom's for use on the Tahoe trip*
Today is beautiful. The first rain in ages. The gray, miasmic sky makes all the leaves look even brighter than they already are, and the rain keeps coming down in steely sheets to slicken the pavement. It's really a relaxing atmosphere.
Kiki's Delivery Service was on today on the Disney Channel, so I watched it just for the fun of it. I own it, and therefore I can watch it whenever I want, but it was kind of fun seeing it on normal TV. Nicole's little brother Dilan was over today hanging out with my brother, and somehow he ended up watching it with me and eating croutons.
I spent most of the day talking on the phone to Nicole and Cody, and Makayla for a little while, too. Lots of odd little exchanges of words, and Nicole even critiqued what I have so far of this weird fanfic of mine about a Jolteon because I somehow ended up reading it to her. XP Then we were talking about forcing Cody to write, but I don't think he liked that idea. I'm considering giving him my turkey beanie baby just to freak him out (he hates turkeys). We're so awful to the poor boy-- I don't know why he stays friends with us. ^^;; Nicole and I were talking about that, too. And Nicole has a dog at her house named Blue, and I don't know why the dog is at her house, but we think that's cool. Even though she doesn't look like Blue.
I think I'm going to go read the LiveJournals of all my friends. I'm lazy all the sudden. Well, see you all! I might not write in this for a while because of the trip!

Date: 2004-10-18 01:17 pm (UTC)It's okay about the sky. Whenever you get a chance. ^^;
There's a big, pure white dog that sometimes runs around in our neighbourhood who we call Kiba. ^.^ When I was hiking on vacation once, there was a black dog there so my brother and I called her Blue, even though her/his eyes were amber. Otherwise, s/he looked just like her.
That reminds me, I'm going to be going to Ohyahocon, and Steve Conte will be a guest there. You've probably met him at one of the many cons you've been to, but either way, is there anything you want me to ask him or try to get from him? ^^; He's still a long way off, but it's been on my mind...
Steve Conte!
Date: 2004-10-20 04:19 pm (UTC)*Is so jealous about Steve Conte* I've been dying to meet him for ages, seeing as he sings about five of my absolute favorite songs EVER (particularly Heaven's Not Enough (Wolf's Rain) and Call Me Call Me (Cowboy Bebop)), but so far he hasn't ventured here to California. He lives in New York, so it isn't that surprising, but still. ;_;
I would LOVE it if you could tell him he has a bunch of fans in California who really, really want to meet him, and ask if he could try his hardest to venture in that area if he gets the chance. ^^; And ask him for his e-mail address, if you can.
It's okay if you don't, though. I can get his e-mail address from Raj Ramayya when I see him again in November hopefully. ^^;
