Dec. 27th, 2011 01:14 amHappy holidays, f-list! I hope you all had a nice time!
My holidays were quite lovely. I watched three great danes, two cats, six chickens, and some fish while their family was out of town, and aside from the great danes breaking one thing everything went 100% smoothly. They have such a nice (and huge) house! And I got to sleep on a Tempurpedic bed for three nights. *v*
I went down to mom's side of the family in Davis on Christmas Eve for a mellow Christmas gathering like always, and to Petaluma with my dad on Christmas day. Both were nice trips. :D
I also went on a big shopping trip today after I lounged around and napped on and off for most of the day. I got a bunch of things, including two Pinkie Pie ornaments (one for me and one for
scorpio_alice), a Minccino throw-Pokeball plush, a Canterlot Castle thing (it was $13 so I couldn't resist, LOL), a Celestia pillow, two 50-lb bags of chicken food, three packages of fencing for the coop, two foam Pokeballs, some stamp ink pads for my Pokemon stamps, a pool for the ducks, and a bunch of miscellaneous 50% off things at Christmas sales. Lots of fun!
I'm also happy because I now have claims on all the charms I really want from the charms sets, and there are a bunch of items I'm excited for coming out during January. Just have to remember to set money aside for the chicken show at the end of the month!
Speaking of chickens, the injured hen I took in didn't make it. I can't say I feel bad about it, though--I did everything I could for her. She had a terrible case of mites, plus scaly leg mites so bad that she was missing a toe from them, and she was terribly thin. There was probably more wrong with her than I could have known from examining her--it was obvious she had been suffering from these maladies for a while. I dusted her for the mites, began treating the scaly leg mites, and gave her warm mash with strawberries, celery leaves, vitamins, calcium, and more. She passed away anyway, so apparently she was just to a point where I could not save her.
Finally, the Tylan arrived! Now my whole flock is being medicated for their sniffles. I'm hoping it'll do the trick.
Lucky's doing well after his neuter. He's healing fast and went back to his normal self more or less the same day he was neutered. I'm working out details with his probable new home and the rescue group.
Still haven't resolved the bank issue completely, but that should be all fixed tomorrow!
Finally I feel like things are settling down, at least for now.
