I hope everyone had a nice Christmas! Mine was kinda low-key, but not in a bad way. It was good! Relaxed, fun, and it was enjoyable seeing my extended family. A particular highlight was playing MarioCart Wii with my brother and two of my cousins at my aunt's house and laughing hard because of how bad we are at it. (One of my cousins was evil and made Rainbow Road the first course we played. Uhhhh...that did not go well to say the least! I'm awesome at racing games, but factor in my inexperience with the Wiimote/Wii-wheel, and FAIL.) Gift-wise, I got mostly cash, but also some other little things! In particular I love the two different chicken calendars I now have, heehee! One for home, one for work.
My main gift (to myself) is going to be buying a new laptop very soon. I thought I had settled on a cute blue Sony Vaio, but ultimately with more research and thought I decided it didn't have enough of the specs I want (as wonderful as the shade of blue is). Now the laptop I'm looking at is rather expensive, but not considerably more so than the Vaio I was planning on, but for some reason I'm a little stressed about making the decision. Why? I don't know, haha, it's a bit pointless. It's just laptop shopping! And I definitely need a new laptop--it would be difficult to argue otherwise. Nonetheless, the computer I'm seriously considering is VERY nice, has all the features I want and more, great reviews, and seems like it will last me for a good, solid four to five years easily. It's a gaming laptop, actually--meaning it will probably have more juice than I even really need, but I'm not complaining. I was originally going to go for 16GB RAM because hoooooly cow 16 GB of RAM? But upon more thought I decided that I most likely will not require 16GB of RAM and that 8GB will be sufficient for my purposes (and if it's not, I can cheaply/easily upgrade the RAM later on). I think I'm going to talk to the site that sells the laptop tomorrow and see about discounts, how long it will take to configure, etc. If all goes well, I'll be ordering it soon! I think once I officially have an order placed, I'll relax and be excited about getting a new laptop instead of feeling like "Ahhhh making decisions is so difficult!"
Mom and I are talking about taking in a foster dog because the Sutter County shelter keeps being full of the cutest dogs and putting up urgent Craigslist ads of dogs will be put down, aughhh. ;____; She says we can foster a small dog if they have small dogs in, as they frequently do, so we'll be taking a trip down to the shelter on Tuesday most likely. If they have the right dog, we'll come home with a foster dog.
I've won some things from my wishlist lately on Y!J, I'm pleased! Finally--I had this massive losing streak where I lost literally every Y!J auction I bid on, LOL. I got the Larvitar with stick plush after at least two years of pining after it, I won plush Eevee earmuffs that just popped up for 500 yen BIN, a very nice Perfect Blue cel, and an adorable surfing Pikachu handkerchief from 1998 that I've never even seen before! Love it. This next Treasure Japan box, which should be here sometime in early/mid January, is going to be amazing! *A* It's everything I've won in the last several months and it includes Pokétime clearfiles, DX Mew Pokédoll, Pokédoll tin and XD notebook both with Umbreon on them, nine new Pokémon cels plus a bunch of douga and maybe genga, a non-working Mew DS, Wolf's Rain douga, aaand some other great stuff that I just don't feel like listing out of laziness.
Anyway, life is busy but good~ Really want to push to work on (and hopefully finish) the commissions I need to do and definitely get the remaining packages out this week. I'm getting extremely sick of that guilty feeling that follows me around and stresses me out that I need to get these things done, and I really want them to go to their rightful owners. Going to include a lot of extras in those packages.
