pacificpikachuI found a job opening for a veterinary assistant! It's down in Auburn so it's about thirty-five minutes away, but that's no big deal. :D I went and dropped off a resume and filled out an application today. Hopefully I'll have an interview soon! Please keep your fingers crossed for me. I would love to have this job! I'm not getting my hopes up too high because it seems like everyone and their mom is looking for a job right now and someone may be more qualified, but I can't help but hope. On the way down there I saw a car with a 528 on its license plate, which is one of my signs for luck.
I also picked up a red cochin chick, simply because my poor serama chick that Charming rejected is so lonely. The cochin chick looks like a monster in comparison with the serama, which is hilarious because cochins really aren't that big to begin with and this cochin chick is maybe only a week older than the serama, if that. Seramas are just that tiny! The cochin is being a little feisty towards the chick, but I think given a little time they'll be friends despite the size discrepancy.
Mom keeps harping on me about money. Money, money, money, that's practically all she talks about. :( Blargh. I think it's partly because she's been working a bunch of night shifts, though, and is grumpy.
Anyway, I just had a slightly hilarious run-in with a skunk tonight. XD I was putting chickens in the henhouse and had been in and out about three times, and this...thing goes waddling past and I realize I've been in the henhose with a skunk the whole time. It just waddled off, not even in a particular hurry. Skunks are pretty harmless, all it did was eat a duck egg (which doesn't bother me) and then leave, so whatever. It didn't even spray! It was cute, I like skunks. ;3; I would rather it not hang out in the chicken coop, but at least it caused no harm or stench.
