pacificpikachuThings are a bit hectic right now, so I'm on a sort of semi-hiatus? I read entries as usual and reply to what I can, but unfortunately entries I want to leave long, thoughtful comments on are being a bit neglected at the moment due to how busy I am at the moment. Busy because:
1. We have Tilly now! We drove four hours into a rather desolate, far-out place in Nevada to get her, and then another four hours back! Quite the trip, but she was worth it! She's a really pretty girl and SO sweet. ♥ I love her! She's already bonded to me because I've been spending most of my time with her. :D Hana is a bit leery of her simply because Hana is a bit possessive of the couch, her toys, and us to a certain degree, but they're getting along okay in general. They'll be best of buddies soon enough, I'm sure, once the adjustment period is over. :3 Tilly also has a fixation on the guinea pigs and likes to try to "herd" them even though they're in a cage, haha. I will post more about Tilly (and pictures) when I'm not so busy!
2. This morning my mom lost part of the tip of her finger due to our horse. I saw the finger when they were treating it and it was pretty gruesome, although once everything grows back in the next month there should only be a small amount missing from the very tip of the finger. As a result, she's a slightly limited in what she can do and also kind of upset about it. Long story short, she was trying to get Rivi in the trailer and he backed up very suddenly and strongly, and the rope got wrapped around her finger somehow and took off the skin/chunk of flesh on that finger. Luckily the lady who owns the stables where she keeps Rivi was there and drove her to the ER and stuck Hana in a stall until I could go pick her up. I went out to get Hana and drove to the ER and sat in the room while she was being treated. I left at one point for a little while to go the post office, but mostly just sat around there.
Anyway, she's feeling a bit better now (she's already housecleaning with one hand) and the finger is all securely bandaged, but yeah...the finger is pretty bad. I can't help but cringe a little thinking about it, just because I'm empathetic like that, not because I'm easily grossed out. We're hoping she won't have to get a skin graft on it.
3. My laptop is having power cord issues again so I can't go on it and have to use the crummy old desktop computer. My dad can fix the power cord, at least temporarily, but I'm not going to his house for a few days at least because of Tilly and my mom's finger.
Uh, yeah, that's about it. If you don't see me on, that's why! I'm tired from all the hurrying around today.
