Nov. 4th, 2008 12:44 amWoo, go grassroots activism! I just made a shirt that says "Please vote Yes on 2! Help end animal suffering! P.S. Go Obama!" using a square from an old shirt of mine, a sharpie, some safety pins, and a current shirt of mine. I also did some silly little doodles of a chicken, a pig, a cow, and a turkey. I'm looking forward to wearing it tomorrow and hopefully getting to talk to some people about it (and maybe change some minds if I can). I don't know, it's a pretty doofy way of trying to get people to vote for 2, but anything is better than nothing, and obviously I think this proposition is extremely important.
I considered covering all the props that I think are particularly important, but I think that loses the impact of the message. The other one I think is really big is of course Prop 8, but who doesn't know about that already anyway? And I highly doubt Prop 4 will pass because they constantly put propositions similar to that one up and it's always defeated, thankfully.
I'm excited and a little nervous for tomorrow, but mostly just excited. I have a good feeling about this election, and I don't want to be overconfident but I really think Obama is going to win it. Which is really, really, really exciting if it happens. I guess we'll find out tomorrow night~!
So, who's moving with me to Canada if McCain wins? 8D
I think I'll cut this short before I ramble too much (which I am very prone to doing), but in short:
GO VOTE, US CITIZENS!
AND JUST THINK, INTERNATIONAL FRIENDS, YOU WON'T HAVE TO HEAR ABOUT THIS CONSTANTLY AFTER THE NEXT FEW DAYS!
Awwww, CC is playing with a paper bag I put out for her to play in, and she also seems to have found a badminton birdie and is batting it all around my room. So cute!
I was worried about making [my ideal] wordcount for my novel tonight, but I somehow managed to make it there and past. I'm currently at 7566, which is not bad at all! New goal: Have Mira on the plane to South America by 15K! Hopefully that'll cut down on some of my rambling and maybe force me to wrap up the novel within the 50K. Hopefully. I'm not counting on it.
Anyway, time to go to bed.
