Sep. 3rd, 2008 09:41 pmHmmm, not the best day. I feel like I'm going to fall over with exhaustion, and I just want to get enough sleep for once so I actually feel alert and not like I could just fall asleep any second. The problem is I always start feeling alert and awake again at around 10 or 11 PM and spend the rest of the day so exhausted I can barely stay awake in lectures.
I went to Chemistry today, tried my best not to sleep during lecture, and went to lab. When I went to lab, I asked the teacher if I could borrow some lab goggles, as I forgot mine at home. He was standing in front of a big box full of lab goggles and could've handed me a pair of them with just about no effort. He said they only let students use the school's goggles the first week of class and that I couldn't do the lab.
I asked if I could run to the bookstore and buy another pair (for $16, if not more) in order to do the lab. He said I would have to be back in time for the prelab discussion, and...well, it wouldn't be possible to go across campus, buy goggles, and get back in time (it was in about two or three minutes). So I ended up not doing lab today. ;__; I felt so stupid and sad. It's only ten points so it's not a big deal, but still... So frustrating. I know it was my fault and I need to keep everything together, but he could've been more understanding--it's not as though letting me borrow lab goggles would've been of consequence or any trouble at all. I had other labs I wanted to turn in, too, but I felt too embarrassed to go back in the lab room after I picked up my stuff and left.
On the upside, I did catch three shiny Shinx today and get my giant Cyndaquil plush from the post office (it's adorable). Also, there was a brown praying mantis on the front deck at mom's, so I let it crawl on me for a while before letting it go back on the deck. I love praying mantises.
The other highlight of my day was going to the AnimalSave thrift store and playing with kitties in the cat room. Sooo many adorable kittens and cats!
We're most likely getting two feral or semi-feral cats within the next two weeks to live on our property and help with the rat problem, in addition to putting out a bunch of live traps. Excited about the cats, even though they won't be pets exactly. I can still name them and treat them as well as I can from a distance.
Anyway, going to go take a shower and collapse into bed now.
