Mar. 19th, 2008 11:59 pmThe ringing in my ears is starting to go away! I mean, it's still here, but I can't really hear it over normal noise now unless it's quiet. I must admit, though, I still have that sad, bittersweet "Why is it over?" feeling lingering around me. I-I don't know why? I want it to go away, but it's rather persistent. I think it's because I'm on my period and super-emotional as a result. ;__; I'm so grateful that the concert was as absolutely amazing as it was, though. There's no way it would be having this profound of an effect on me if it wasn't as much fun as it was.
Haha, I've been buying quite a bit the last few days. I have my finances all figured out now, so I bought some things on Ebay/
pkmncollectors/IRL with a little bit of extra cash I had. I got some more Buizel stuff at Toys'R'Us, Penalty Life (domestically-released pillows CD that has been randomly evading me for some time--randomly a store at the mall was carrying it!), and a little Hamtaro plush (LOL IT WAS $1, DON'T HURT MEEEE) down in Roseville today. And, uh, the online purchases were just random. I won't get into all of them because they'll bore everyone except the few other Pokémon collectors on my f-list. .__.;
It rained a little today, despite it being...not cold? It was nice.
Ummmm. Not much else to talk about. Have a meme from
starfreckled:
ABOUT YOU / YOUR JOURNAL
1. What is your LiveJournal username? How did you come up with it?
pacificpikachu! I came up with it years ago when I decided to ditch my old all-internet username. It actually came from an old Gameshark cheat to get a surfing Pikachu, and I love surfing Pikachu and the word 'Pacific' so...uh, yeah. I guess 'pacific' means peaceful or something, and peaceful fits me well, and I like the Pacific Ocean and...er. Yeah. I obviously like Pikachu a lot.
2. Have you renamed before? If so, what were your old names? If you haven't renamed, what names would you want to rename to?
Nope, I haven't renamed since coming to LiveJournal. I don't think I'm going to rename at any point in the futre, either. I'm rather happy with my username, and I can't see myself ditching it.
3. How much does your userinfo say about you?
A fair amount...? I have so many fandoms that I've given up listing all of them, but I'm a lengthy type of person and I think it at least outlines basically what I'm into...at least. I don't know, it makes a good summary of me/my fandoms, I suppose.
4. How long have you been on LiveJournal??
A little over four years, though I lurked here for around a year or so before I ever created an account. So, about five years total?
5. What is the longest amount of time you've gone without posting?
A week or so, usually for vacations. I'm a tad addicted to LiveJournal, I must admit. Now that I have a laptop I try to post during vacations from time-to-time even.
6. On average, how many entries do you post per day?
.5-.75? I don't post every day like I used to, but I try to post at least every other day or thereabouts.
7. What are your posts normally about?
Boring everyday stuff, fandom, anime conventions, cosplay, animals. That mostly covers it.
8. Is your LiveJournal friends only? Why or why not?
No, it's about 95% public. I'm not interesting enough to want to hide all of my ramblings, and if people want to read them... Well, whatever. Doesn't bother me! I sometimes f-lock my personal/angsty posts, but there aren't very many of those because I'm a pretty content person in general.
9. Does your LiveJournal have an actual title or are you merely USER @ LiveJournal?
"Following the Wolves to Rakuen..." because I'm a huge fan of Wolf's Rain and I had to commemorate it somehow. :D
10. How long do you see yourself staying on LiveJournal?
A long time. I don't know, as long as it continues to interest me--which will probably be at least another several years. We'll see how things go! I can't see myself leaving any time soon at all.
ABOUT YOUR FRIENDSLIST
1. How many people are on your friendslist, not counting private journals, media journals, etc?
I'm too lazy to figure that out, to be honest.
2. Why do you choose to add a person to your friendslist?
I usually meet people through fandom, discover that we share several fandoms, and think we'll get along, so we do a mutual add. Awesome comment trains sometimes facilitate this, too.
3. Is your friendslist an actual list of people you consider friends, or more of a reading list?
It's about 50% people I consider friends (or want to get to know better) and 50% communities.
4. How often do you read your friendslist?
A lot. A few times a day, usually, but it depends on my boredom level and if I have anything else to do. Some days I just sit around and read my f-list a bunch, some days I don't even look at it because I'm busy. Usually like two or three times a day, though.
5. Do you use filters when viewing your friendslist?
No, but I probably should. XD
6. How much do you talk to people on your friendslist off of LiveJournal?
Hm, not a ton... I prefer talking on LiveJournal, and I don't particularly care for IM programs. I have some online friends I occasionally talk to on the phone, though, and some of my f-list is made up of real life and convention friends. I like talking to people, especially awesome f-list people, but I just...don't particularly care for IMing? Which sort of limits me in that department. DX
7. Do you do friendscuts? Why or why not?
I've thought about it, but I have yet to do one. I think I just need to create a filter so my communities and friends aren't all jumbled up; I'd rather not have to cut anyone because I care about/get along with everyone active on my f-list.
8. Do you regularly participate in friending memes? If not, how do you normally find people to friend?
I did, and made some great friends that way! But, alas, no longer. I can't handle any more influxes of people like that... I want to get to know my existing LJ friends better instead of just adding more and more people, so unless I hit it off with someone I'm trying to avoid intentionally putting myself in "ADD ME" situations.
9. How often do you add new friends to your friendslist?
Hm, not all that often? Maybe one a month, or one every two months.
10. Do your friends have to have things in common with you?
I'd prefer they do, because my interests are a big part of who I am.
ABOUT YOUR ICONS / USERPICS
1. How many userpics do you get maximum? How many of those slots do you actually use?
I have fifteen, and I'm using fourteen (will be fifteen when I find one I want badly enough!). I wish I had more, but I can't justify spending money on LiveJournalwhen I could be spending it on random Pokémon stuff I don't need. Maybe someday.
2. Do you mostly use icons made by yourself or by others?
I mainly use icons made by others. I'm not terribly talented in icon-making. :P I have a few I made from pictures of my pets, though.
3. Do you have your own icon community? How often do you post in it?
Nope.
4. What fandoms are most frequently seen in your userpics?
I try to keep a good spread of them because I have SO MANY FANDOMS. So I don't think there's more than one of any fandom at the moment. But I'm always tempted to add more Pokémon icons, I must admit.
5. How do you find icons to use?
I gank them off of fandom community posts, usually.
6. How often do you upload new icons to use in your userpics?
Not very often! I'm resistant to change, or something... XD Plus, I get oddly attached to my icons.
7. Which of your userpics do you use the most?
I use the 5cm one a lot, I've noticed. And my default one, and Totoro Dance. I've been using the Hana icon a lot lately, too. It varies a lot.
8. Which of your userpics do you like the most?
I can't choose one! I love them all.
9. The old minimum number of userpics was three. Could you see yourself "surviving" on three userpics now?
Sad as it is, no. XD I'd have a hard time with that!
10. What do your userpics say about you?
That I like anime and fluffy/cute things?
ABOUT YOUR FANDOMS
1. How many fandom communities are you a part of?
A lot. Possibly too many, but...I love my fandoms! I generally just skim over a lot of the posts, though.
2. Do you join fanfic or icon communities or only the general communities?
I tend to join general communities, usually. I go in and out of fanfiction phases, and I don't have enough icon space to friend icon communities.
3. How many fandom communities do you moderate?
Two? One is very inactive (a Naruto rec community KK and I started to use between us), and the other is
shinypoke.
4. How often do you check fandom communities for new posts?
They're on my general friends-list right now, so a lot.
5. Do you contribute to fandom? If so, by way of what?
I do fanfiction and fanart occasionally, but I'm insanely slow at writing fanfiction and I'm too lazy to scan/post most of my fanart. I like to discuss, though, and...um, I buy and sell things on
pkmncollectors? I also occasionally do Yoko Kanno-related projects that are posted to communities and websites, like the Wolf's Rain Music Guide and ripping all the unreleased tracks off of Arjuna.
6. Which fandoms are you most active in?
Pokémon. Other than that, my activity level varies a lot depending on a number of factors.
7. What do your choice of fandoms say about you?
That I like anime? Seinen anime, mostly? That I like a fairly wide range of anime?
8. Do you make friends based on fandom?
Yes, a lot of the time! I grow to appreciate them as people, too, though--it's not like our friendships are entirely based off of fandom. It's just a great way to get to know people, and it's fun to talk about. :3
9. Have you ever read (or been featured on) fandom_wank?
I enjoy reading some fandom_wank from time-to-time, yes. And I've never been featured on it, but I once posted first in a thread that made it on to otf_wank. XD
10. What is one thing you wish you could change about fandom?
Oh man, I love fandom so much, but--there are so many things. Mostly, though, I wish fandom had the same level of cohesion and passion that it did years ago. It seems to me that anime fans don't seem to have the same levels of emotional attachment and actually caring about their fandoms as they used to... Possibly because anime is so much easier to get than it used to be. Maybe it's just me, though, an overenthusiastic fan of just about everything. I wish there wasn't so much cynicism about being an anime fan, too.
Haha, I've been buying quite a bit the last few days. I have my finances all figured out now, so I bought some things on Ebay/
