Today was a nice switch of pace. I already typed half this entry up (and had a great time doing it), only to lose it to an "Illegal Operation", so forgive me being brief about it. Believe me--you do NOT want to read all the stuff I wrote about the cat dissection before. It was fairly creepy. I'll reproduce some of it, though.

First period was boring. Listened to people reading their stories. Didn't read mine. Don't care.

Second period, we watched more Seabiscuit. More enjoyable today because we didn't have to answer any questions on it.

Third period...cat dissection! Creepy how used to it I've gotten after two times. At least I know I'll be fine as a veterinarian.

It was interesting this time around, as well. We had the same cat to dissect (and he was in the same condition as he was when we last saw him). At an attempt to ward off the formaldehyde smell, we put orange lotion that Erin brought in our surgical masks. It didn't work. -_- The nasty formaldehyde smell basically neutralized the nice orange smell, thus making it smell like sweet, orange formaldehyde. Ewww.

The worst part (formaldehyde smell aside), was the disgusting yellow layer of mesentary over the intestines. Erin prompty cut it out and threw it on to the cat's tail, which just made it look even more disgusting.

This time, all the organs weren't the same color! :O With such distinct and varied structures (as opposed to the boring tan of the cat's muscles and such), we finished our checklist within about twenty minutes, and thus had time to poke around the lungs, heart, and such (after cracking the cat's ribs. *Cringe*). We also had to cut open its stomach. There was cat food and hair in there. ><

One of the groups had a cat with intestinal worms, so we got to see that. Sounds disgusting, but it wasn't as bad as it sounds.

Erin was being overly dramatic about it this time around (not sure why--just the mood she was in today), and Aubyn and I kept laughing at her freaking out about nothing in particular. She obvioiusly was just fine with it, though, because she practically hacked the cat apart in layers. We saw everything in that cat. O_O;

Anyway, I'd be best to change the subject now before I lose you as readers from talking too much about the innards of cats. XD; I swear, I'm not that morbid. I <3! kitties.

So, TA period was relatively uninteresting. The formaldehyde-smell paranoia definitely sunk in, though, leaving me randomly going crazy.

During Lunch, Nicole was in play rehearsals so Cody-kun and I went to visit her in the theater (which is about a full hundred feet from the room where we normally eat lunch). Marina had a web-footed glove (think: like a frog's back legs), so Cody and I were taking turns wearing it, and Cody (just to please me), came up with this entertaining/incredibly pointless idea for a story:

A person is born with webbed feet and fingers.

People don't like the person with webbed feet and fingers.

The person with webbed feet and fingers commits suicide.

^^;; The end. Brilliant, né? He knows how I kill all my characters, so he decided to bring up a possible plot idea. XD I'd love to see the look on my Creative Writing teacher's face if I actually wrote it. I mean, sure, I usually kill my characters, but it's usually for deep/creative reasons. This would be utterly pointless, and thus it would confuse her.

Anyway, then Marina kicked us out (after we helped them determine that the audience would be able to hear from all parts of the theater) because we were being distracting, so I randomly followed Cody around and we did very little.

In math, I don't believe anything unusual happened. Ariel continued trying to talk Mr. Harter into giving extra credit for bringing pies on Pi Day. XD It didn't work, unfortunately.

In English, we spent the whole period working on props for the Gatsby Party. I ended up painting life-size cardboard people with Kate and it was quite fun. We have a lot of respect for each other (or at least it seems that way), and we kept complimenting each others' paintings. ^^ My person's head (which I didn't cut out or design, by the way) was completely square and large, so I was trying to cope with this and kind of failing. The proportions on the entire cutout were off, so Kate and I were trying to deal with this the best we could.

Then I peeled black paint off my hands, went into the choir room for a while, said hello to people, glomped Cody goodbye, thought briefly I *didn't* smell formaldehyde (very briefly), and talked to Makayla about Naruto and Gravitation until my Mom picked me up.

Once Mom picked me up, I was supposed to go see a movie with Ana and several of the other exchange students, but when we arrived at the movie theater, we discovered it wasn't playing when we thought it was, so that whole thing was cancelled. Oh well. Nice of them to invite me anyway.

Sooo Dad picked me up, and I went to the play Nicole was in at 7 PM. This was much fun.

I met Makayla there, and we talked about Gravitation until the show started. She's just now reading the manga (before she had only seen the show), so now she's all obsessed again. YAY! We kept giggling about Shuichi's little daydream about cheating on Yuki with Hiro ("Hiro, we can't do this--I have a husband!"), and Tetsuya talking about how the peas remind him of nipples. Anyway. *Cough*

We also located Rosie, Roya, and Trevor there, so we talked to them at intermission and such. Cody said he was going to come, but he never did. ;_;

The play was excellent, and my friends all did a great job. I enjoyed the play's subject matter and the storytelling style (jumping between things that seem unrelated but actually are in the larger scheme). It was very comedic, too, and filled with this great sense of irony that I appreciated. I commend Emmy for all the effort she spent on this (she wrote it, directed it, coordinated EVERYTHING--and she's just a Sophomore!).

Makayla's jacket also played a role in the play, as one of the actors showed up wearing it when he freaked out and started turning into a werewolf. XD This was funny, because Makayla didn't even know it was going to be in the play (she had left it backstage with her backpack).

Afterwards, Makayla and I talked more Gravitation (Makayla discovered yet again just how much I am like Ryuichi when I started chasing the disco lights on the stage with my program, trying to "catch" the lights), we concluded Trevor is Tatsuha after all, and such. Funfun.

Then Dad picked me up and here I am, downloading episode 123 of Naruto when I haven't even seen past 88. I can't resist. XD No, I'm not going to watch it until I get there (don't worry).

Ryan has Jake over the whole weekend. Wish me luck.

I need to change my clothes, because according to my Dad and Makayla, I still reek of formaldehyde. I hope the smell goes away soon. o_o

Well, better go! Good night!
