pacificpikachu: (Hooch -- ?)
Just a dream post, not that interesting!

I had a dream this morning that was kind of strange. I can't remember it that well any more so this is vague. [livejournal.com profile] toggy and [livejournal.com profile] astrokittie wanted me to watch this movie that was famous for being a hilariously terrible movie with them. I got there late because of...something to do with a parking lot, and then we were watching the movie in the parking lot somehow despite there not being any TV or screen and therefore this not making sense. It looked like a Costco parking lot. There was also a flea market going on in the parking lot, and I stopped watching the movie and left for some reason to go to one of the booths, maybe because I had to go to the bathroom or something. I didn't like the guy who was running the booth or whatever it was he was selling (leather?), but he had a nice dog.

I went into this store nearby and there was a pit viper in there on the floor for some reason. (In the dream, it was just referred to as a pit viper, but this is not a species of snake, but rather a subfamily encompassing a few species.) Somehow or another I got bitten multiple times by the snake on both hands. After several minutes passed with me watching my hands/arms, my hands completely swelled up and there were big lumpy pus nodules on my arms. All-in-all, quite realistic and freaky. Look up snake bites on Google images, it was like that. I told my dad to call 911 but he was preoccupied with shopping for photo frames. (Why was everyone so in-character in this dream? Not that dad would ignore a snakebite in favor of shopping for photo frames, but he does love shopping for photo frames.) There was also some huge drama with catching the snake in the store, and something about transportation across the parking lot to the hospital, but it's all faded too much to remember now.

The bit about the snake bite was quite freaky because I could really feel the pain of it and the physiological reactions were very realistic. When I woke up, I was quite relieved that I had not, in fact, been bitten by any snakes at all.

I am sooo excited to sleep in tomorrow. This has been a week where getting up felt agonizing every morning. I'd drag myself up to take care of the chickens and go to work, but just barely.

The power went out today for something like three hours, during the heat of the day. It got up to 85 degrees inside, ughh, and interrupted my nap. Then I couldn't fall back asleep because it was too hot without fans and the air conditioner. I was annoyed!

I need to post sales tomorrow, I really do! I'm so tired lately that I keep putting it off.

I was reading a bit about Generation Y, which I am a part of. I think it's rather difficult to generalize or characterize such a large group--it spans quite a large range of birth years--but nonetheless I find it intriguing. Some of it was reassuring to me, especially the bits about this generation often living with parents through their twenties and having trouble finding jobs because of the current economic climate.

Off to bed with me!

Another dream post!

Had a dream that I was at Anime Expo and I heard that there would be something going on at this elementary school in the neighborhood. Except it was clearly a Japanese school, in Japan, despite being just a few blocks away, so...uh. Anyway, I went there and discovered that Yoko Kanno was there and naturally freaked out. (Note: I frequently have dreams about meeting Yoko Kanno. Like, a ridiculous amount.)

She was talking to the kids about I don't know what, but I asked the teacher if I could get an autograph and meet her and explained in bad Japanese that it's really a dream of mine. She arranged this, so I got to meet Yoko Kanno and get her autograph and talk to her a little. I also asked if I could get Maaya Sakamoto's autograph (she had been in the room earlier) but she said she was "in the back" whatever that means. XD

The kids were playing this game outside where groups would stand on two sides of a square of area and then run across the square without bumping into each other. I thought this was a pretty cool game though now that I'm awake I don't get it. Yoko Kanno was watching and occasionally running along and I was hanging around near her and following her. She started singing a song, but I didn't know it and concluded she just thought of it. It was a pretty, simple song.

At some point in the dream, I went into this dark building and saw the goddess elf lady or whatever from the Escaflowne movie. Except then Yoko Kanno like...came out of her, like she had been possessing her. Then the goddess turned into a schoolgirl who seemed very flat and ordinary and small. The girl left behind blew away in the wind, flat like paper, up toward the blue sky. I said "Like a butterfly," referring to how she fluttered in the wind, and then, as if on cue, she turned into a butterfly and flew away. I felt a sense of awe.

After the game ended and Yoko Kanno went off somewhere (left), [livejournal.com profile] scorpio_alice showed up and said we had to get in line for AMVs. They had moved AMVs to some weird place a few blocks from the convention so we went to try and line up.

I think that's all.
