Ffff, thank you, laptop for suddenly not registering your power cord. And then letting your battery die without informing me beforehand. .____. I'm so glad I'm planning on ordering a new laptop tomorrow, otherwise I'd be really screwed. (Well, this still might be very inconvenient if it keeps up, seeing as it'll be 2-3 weeks before I receive said new laptop.) I'm on mom's super slow desktop right now. If I don't get back to people right away, it's just because the laptop is currently not working and I'm reluctant to use the desktop more than necessary.

Tippy is doing well! I'm about 98% sure she's half Italian greyhound. The other half is a mystery--maybe min-pin? I'm not sure. She is so cute and remarkably well-behaved! She got a quick, free check-up at the vet today, but I'm holding off on getting anything done that costs money until I talk to AnimalSave (hopefully tomorrow). She's going to be easy to find a home for once she gains weight, gets over her kennel cough, and gets spayed and vaccinated. She literally sat on my shoulders while I was driving her down to Yuba City for her appointment, LOL. I tried to take her off for her own safety, but she found a way to sit so she was completely stable there and kept climbing up there and resting her chin on my shoulder, so I just let her stay there. The vet really liked her. She was growling at big dogs in the waiting room, hahaha.

Anyway, I guess I will just hang around and feel aimless because my laptop is not working. .____.

pacificpikachu: (Yoko Kanno -- Kira!)
Last post of 2010, perhaps? I need to do an official 2010 summary meme, but in the meantime I'll summarize in my own terms!

The Good!

* SEEING YOKO KANNO IN CONCERT A SECOND TIME SJKDHFAKHGAJFHJKAFHA!!!!!!111111111oneelevenfortytwo This by itself makes it the second best year ever, second only to last year when I went to Japan and went to the Tanasonic concert (plus a lot of other amazing things in Japan).
* Getting my job at Animal Place! The most wonderful (and fitting) job I could ever hope for. I think it will lead me to great places and to saving even more animals. I feel proud and happy to be able to work with such an amazing organization.
* Cons this year have been wonderful! I had a grand time at all of the cons I attended and met some people I really admire (Toshihiro Kawamoto, Megumi Nakajima, May'n, Mari Iijima, and the list goes on and on). I also got to see Disappearance in theaters, see the pillows in concert for a THIRD time, and do lots of other fun things I can't even remember.
* I've gotten to make a lot of great friends this year, and meet online friends in real life. This is most excellent!
* 5th generation of Pokémon! I LOVE IT! \o/
* Incubating is fun. I don't intend to do a lot of it because I already have a lot of chickens, but nonetheless, it's been enjoyable and educational learning to incubate. How special is it to watch chicks hatching? Very special.

The Bad

* Too many pet tragedies. Hopefully 2011 will be much lighter in this respect. I said goodbye to Princess, my cat of 16 years, and lost entirely too many of my fowl to sad, unexpected circumstances.
* School sort of...I dunno man, went down the drain for now? I was in school for the spring semester but since then I'm on a break. For now, though, I'm okay with this. I am not in a hurry, I don't have that many classes to go, and I'm still nearly a straight-A student, so things are just fine. I guess this is more of a neutral thing than a bad thing, overall.
* I still fail at shipping things in a timely manner and this stresses me more than it should. .____.
* Energy issues still, but they've been better mostly.

Overall, a pretty awesome year. It had its downsides, but in general? Awesome.

I have a great feeling about 2011. :D There are wonderful things up ahead~
