Oct. 26th, 2010 01:52 amNote: I'm posting after midnight so it's technically a new day, but to me it's not really a new day until I've slept and woken up, so I'm referring to days as if it's still the 25th.
Yesterday's weather was crazy! It poured so hard for so long, it was ridiculous. :O The power went out for more than an hour, endangering my Icelandic eggs. Once the incubator cooled down, I ended up taking the eggs out and keeping the eggs against me in bed so they'd stay at least somewhat warm, LOL. I think they'll be just fine. It felt like a biblical flood or something yesterday, ahaha, it was so insane. I'm not sure how accurate she's being or what her source is, but mom says we got 8" or so of rain in just that one day.
Today was surprisingly nice and sunny, albeit a bit chilly. It seems the storm taught my chickens how to go in on their own, though--this was the first night that I went out to put them away and found ALL of them in the henhouse instead of in the run on their manzanita branch they like to perch on. I'm so proud! XD
Speaking of which, I took a ton of chicken pictures and pictures of my set-up the other day, and I ought to post them sometime. :) I have art I want to do this week, too, though, and it's kind of a busy week so I'm not sure when I'll have time to picture dump.
Someone from another state wants to buy my pure white serama cockerel! If she does buy him, it'll be nerve-wracking to ship him, but at the same time I know she'll give him an awesome home. We'll see how things go, it sounds like she seems pretty interested, though, despite the somewhat high costs of shipping a live bird. I'm researching how to ship birds, it's kind of amazing what you can actually ship! *Sends you all live swans*
I saw The Social Network last night with mom. Both of us were rather impressed! Great acting and writing, and I felt like the movie had a lot to say about trust, friendship, money, and a number of other themes, and ultimately that last scene keeps sticking with me. I've heard (only in passing, I haven't read much about the movie or the real creation of Facebook yet) that the movie is unsurprisingly not at all accurate about the reality of things, but to be frank I don't particularly care. I felt like the movie intended to touch on some themes/concepts and tell a certain story, and it did that quite well, and the reality behind it is only of passing interest to me. Anyway, I enjoyed it, I'll probably see it again once it comes out on DVD. :)
Not much else to say, my poultry are ruling my life as usual and not much is up on the fandom front. I did create a contact and "Not friends-only but comment to be added!" post, check it out if you want:
pacificpikachu Off to play SoulSilver for a while and go to bed!
