Unexpected recovery!

Thank [insert one of my many arbitrary deities here]!

I thought the chance was more or less nil, but The Salula has made her decision. And she wants to live! ;; Today she is eating, drinking, walking a little, and cackling to herself like she usually does. Her head looks terrible, but I cleaned it off with nolvasan and slathered it with silvadine, and now she's in a pen in the backyard with lots of food and water. I may get some medacam to help manage her pain, and if not she'll get some aspirin, but as of this morning her death sentence is called off. I'm going to see how she does over the next few days, but I suspect she's going to continue to hang in there. Oh, Salula, why are you so amazing? I can't believe some of the things this underweight, white, puffy, socially not all there, kind of kooky twelve-year-old bird has made it through.

Charming hasn't hatched any more chicks yet, but the three she has are soooo cute! Pictures coming soon! One is a darker chipmunk stripe, one is a light chipmunk stripe, and one is sort of a mottled beige and brown. :D

I need to do a collection update soon! I have lots to do today and tomorrow and Friday before I leave for Tahoe. (Pay for items, package things, pack, put money in the bank in order to pay people, etc.) scorpio_alice and I are going to hang out tonight, too, which ought to be fun!

I'm so glad The Salula and I will probably have more time together, ahhh! ;0;
