THIS WEEKEND HAS BEEN MADE OF AMAZING!

Makayla and I headed down to San Francisco and ate at our favorite restaurant in Japantown, and then went to the pillows concert! As always, this was all kinds of fun and awesome and amazing. I LOVE them, LOVE seeing them live, and I'm already looking forward to their next concert. :D I've seen them now three times and all three times are extremely happy and special memories for me. I'm not even deaf, either, thanks to [livejournal.com profile] xel_ko's boyfriend's quick thinking and using gum for earplugs. (Last concert I heard buzzing for three days afterwards.) A+ would do again if not in possession of real earplugs, even with the minty ears afterwards. It was great seeing [livejournal.com profile] xel_ko and [livejournal.com profile] ensuing there, too! I caught some of the concert on video, I'll try and post that in the near-ish future. I got to give Sawao a big hug after the concert! My mom and cousin and brother loved the concert, too. Gah, I love that band.

We went and slept at Nicole's apartment, and then got up in the morning and headed back to J-town. Got a crepe and a bubble milkshake for lunch, wandered around for a while looking in the shops, called [livejournal.com profile] astrokittie to try to meet up but failed and then my cell phone died (;____;), got a parking ticket (I fail! T____T), bought some Gurren Lagann books that were 50% off, ate again at our favorite restaurant, and then went to see The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya.

Now, I was expecting Disappearance to be fun and solidly entertaining, and it was not only that but actually a much more impressive and amazing movie than I expected. I really, really loved it and was surprised by its quality and storytelling. It was incredible! One of the better anime movies I've seen in a while, and I'm so excited to see it again whenever I'm able to. Those of you who are still waiting to see it, let me just say it's well worth the wait and I don't think you'll be disappointed. It blew my expectations out of the water. I just...I can't even stop raving about it because I loved it that much! I would say more but I don't want to spoil people and basically all I would do is go on and on about how much I enjoyed it, how I can't wait to see it again, love all the characters, blah blah blah.

Afterwards we got both ice cream and normal mochi as well as some strange flavors of ramune, ate the ice cream mochi, and had a fun ride back talking about anime, singing along (often rather enthusiastically) with music, and eating and drinking the mochi and ramune. The sunset was beautiful, there was rain and hail on the way back as well as clear weather, and now I'm back home and it's bizarrely cold considering it's towards the end of May.

Awesome weekend has been awesome. [livejournal.com profile] chosen_entity and I are doing a Gurren Lagann marathon tomorrow, so that will of course add even MORE awesome to an already incredible weekend.

I AM SO HAPPY! And not only was this weekend incredible, NEXT WEEKEND IS FANIME! ♥

[livejournal.com profile] chosen_entity and I got through the first fifteen episodes of Gurren Lagann, so pretty good! Gah, I never get tired of this series. *3* I can't wait to finish it with her sometime this week! Only the final (AMAZINGGGG) story arc to go.

I have such a crazy week ahead, but not in a bad way! Just...so much to do! I'm glad I don't have to make any costumes on top of the chaos (though Umbreon and Boota need some fixing), as much as I love making costumes. I have to try and keep my energy and motivation up, but at the same time conserve most of my energy for the con. It's a balancing act, you see. I can't even believe how close Fanime is! I can think it, but I can't comprehend it. Oh well, this denial comes every year with Fanime approaching.

What is says about you: You are a creative person. You feel strong ties to nature and your mood changes with its cycles. You are patient and will keep trying to understand something until you've mastered it. Those around you admire your fresh outlook and vitality.

I really want to do art, but I don't know if I'll have time. We'll see, I guess, between all my chores and preparations.
