pacificpikachu: (Hooch -- !)
I've been saving up images to post for a while now! Have some turkey release, chicks hatching, older chicks, duckling, kittens, and more! Lots and lots of cute. :D

This cut has forty-one images and a Youtube video under it, so slow connections beware! )

I hope you enjoy!

The intake center was sure interesting today. We didn't get much in the way of birds (though there were some around), but we did get, of all things, a very large snapping turtle. Snapping turtles are not indigenous to our area, so it's quite strange, and especially to have one of this size. He was at the Yuba City Animal Control for two weeks, apparently, receiving bad care. :( He is maybe two feet long or so, quite a big guy, and we couldn't handle him at all because snapping turtles can easily take off a finger or worse. Linda took him home and has an enclosure to put him in temporarily until she can find someone with the proper permits and conditions to take him. What a strange intake!

Another critter that came in is a chukar, which is an asian partridge that is often released as a gamebird. (As in, people raise them and then release them so they can shoot them. :() This guy is fairly friendly, apparently walked into someone's house, and he has wings that have been obviously clipped by scissors, so... I guess he was someone's pet who escaped, or something? He was in a suburban area of Yuba City, of all places.

Anyway, I. Um. Adopted him. :'D He's pretty and a rather charming fellow really, and he can be housed with chickens so he shouldn't be a problem. I'll post a picture once I take one. He's very handsome!

I cannot believe how fast Fanime is coming up, OMFG! :O So exciting!

Megumi and May’n will be part of the guests to perform at the Anime Expo 2010 on L.A. on July 2, and it’s interesting to note that they mentioned that “A mystery guest will also join them on stage for a surprise performance.” Oh who could it be, and why aren’t they announcing who it is? If it's Yoko Kanno, I WILL DIE OF HAPPINESS...AGAIN AND MY BRAIN MIGHT EXPLODE. If it's Maaya, I will also die of happiness, AGAIN. REGARDLESS, I AM HAPPY TO SEE MEGUMI AND MAY'N AGAIN because they were truly awesome at TanaSonic. :D
