pacificpikachu: (Totoro Dance!)
Confirmed that, yes, I will be able to get a passport on such short notice, even if it costs more. Monday I'm going to go in to the Rood Center and get that done if they can definitely finish it on time for an extra fee. If they're can't guarantee I'll have it by July 1st, then I'm going to drive down to San Francisco and go to the passport office there and have it done while I'm there. That might actually be the better option--I'm going to look into it.

Currently trying to get a ticket for the concert. Darn manual bid requirements. >( [livejournal.com profile] heerosferret has been an immense help in planning, giving advice, and trying to get tickets--I can't even say how much I appreciate her help. ♥ Everyone else who offered advice and suggestions, I thank you so much, too! I will try to reply soon. :D

Once I have the passport and concert ticket taken care of, it'll be plane ticket time. If I can get those three things locked in, it'll be almost a certainty that I'm going. I have a whole list of plans on how to get money and I'm pretty darn sure I can swing it somehow. I'm so excited--I really feel like this is going to work, even if it is total insanity! My idea is to get the three most necessary things taken care of and once I've done that I'll spend the rest of the time doing research on getting around, tons of maps and directions, any additional accommodations I may need to make aside from [livejournal.com profile] heerosferret's place (again, Gin, THANK YOU SO MUCH), food money, language, and so on.

I AM GOING TO GO FOR THIS. YESSS. Currently scrounging around my room for stuff to sell at a yard sale to help fund my trip, and I'm going to post ads on Craigslist and at local businesses that I will petsit/housesit and help people sell things on Ebay and Craigslist. I have a ton of ideas on making money. :D If anyone wants an art commission or knows someone who might want an art commission, this would be a good time to do it! I'll give nice discounts~ Like $25-30 for a full page colored pencil drawing with multiple characters and stuff (that's like...eight to twelve hours of work, seriously, but I'll do whatever it takes), and including sending the drawing to you. And I can do cheap digital sketches/full digital drawings and sculptures and stuff, too. http://pacificpikachu.deviantart.com/

In more somber news, I decided to have the wild turkey I stitched up euthanized. He had multiple fractures as well as a dislocated leg and would have required fairly extensive surgery to recover. It would not have been fair to the turkey, and not fair to my wildlife group who could use that surgery money to save a lot more animals that are more likely to recover. It was a bit sad because I liked that turkey, but I know it was the right decision and Janey and Dr. Lund and I all agreed that it was what had to happen. I wish I had taken pictures of my suture job before I had him put down. >< Now it's distorted and hard to see on the dead bird so I'm not taking a picture of that. I have to find someone to bury him for me because he has to be buried quite deep so predators don't get into his body... He still has the euthanasia chemicals in his body, so that would be bad news for anything that tried to eat him. D: He's currently double-bagged in my car until I figure out what to do with his body.
