pacificpikachu: (Totoro Dance!)
I'm bringing my Teto costume with my to school tomorrow! Dragging it around isn't going to be fun, but wearing it is. 8D I brushed the fur earlier and touched up the head a bit, but it's definitely going to need another brush before I wear it. The solution is to hang it on a chair in the cafeteria and brush it from there... Hahaha. Well, that ought to get me some interesting looks.

There's a costume contest tomorrow, so I'll be entering with the Teto costume! The prizes are cash, which I could use, so hopefully no one in a downright amazing costume that blows mine out of the water will appear. College students can be pretty ingenious, you know, so I wouldn't be surprised if there are some mind-blowing costumes. But I made the costume on my own whims for my own anime convention reasons, so winning anything with it in a Halloween contest would just be a nice benefit.

I actually think Densuke and Boota are better-made, but Densuke is...well, a white dog, and Boota just looks kind of like a potato with sunglasses for people who don't know the series. I figure Teto has more varied colors and a big floofy tail and huge ears and whatnot, so I think he'll have the best chance of winning.

---

My NaNo novel still has no title! D:

Also, I don't have the faintest idea what my Halloween plans are. Perhaps I'll call Daniell and see what she's doing, as she's the only friend nearby doing NaNo and we haven't gotten any write-ins arranged yet with the group on the forums.

There were so few costumes at school today! I felt kind of out of place, because basically everyone was dressed normally. It was so awkward standing in the cafeteria brushing the costume and then putting it on. Especially because there was a girl sitting a table or two away talking to her friend about how creepy furries are. I wanted to respond and tell them that I'm not a furry, but then it would have been obvious I was listening in to what she was saying.

The people in the bookstore (who I assume are judging) seemed suitably impressed, though, so hopefully no one too amazing showed up after I left/will show up tomorrow and I'll have a nice prize. We'll see. I won't be too offended if I don't win anything, but it would be nice. ^^; After I went to get my picture taken for the contest, I went and was basically just sitting in the cafeteria. Two girls from Japan passed me and then started freaking out, going "Teto! Teto!" They were so excited--it was adorable! They both got pictures with me, along with one of their guy friends. Several other people started taking pictures then and complimenting my costume though they weren't familiar with the character.

LULZ, this one guy kept asking me if I would make him a Darth Vader costume. I told him I don't have experience in that type of costume making, and was all "Awww, but how much would it cost for you to make me one?" Finally after I told him I wouldn't know how to make that costume like six times he gave up on it. .__.;

Anyway, blah, it was kind of uncomfortable wearing a costume to school. It seemed like, instead of having fun and talking to me or openly responding to the costume, they would just give me weird looks behind my back as if I wasn't aware I was wearing a costume or I'd be offended if they reacted or something. WTFFF. HI GUYS, I AM NOT AWARE THAT I AM WEARING A GIANT FOX-SQUIRREL COSTUME, AND IT IS NOT OKAY TO LAUGH AT THE FACT THAT I AM WEARING A GIANT FOX-SQUIRREL COSTUME. It was weird. And I'm normally not embarrassed when I'm costuming at all!

Awww, The Office tonight. :( *Waves little Michael/Holly flag sadly* Many laughs were had, though.

Now to wait for the NaNoWriMo site to come back up so I can go back to my usual obsessive posting and reading there.

Slightly over twenty-four hours to go! I'm so not ready. XD But that's all right--I'm sure it'll be fine!

Working title is now Sun Streams Through. We'll see if that sticks or not.
