pacificpikachu: (Dreaming)
Finally, after what feels like a very long time, it started to rain again here! I love it. I've been keeping most of the windows open so I can hear to rain falling. It's so relaxing and nice.

I watched the pets for the whole day because mom was working twelve-hour dayshift. I mostly just sat around with me, Hana, and CC on the couch, Tia on the floor, and Princess off in the hallway or wherever she was sleeping. Poor "Bob" is still scared and hiding, but when I do manage to coax her out from her hiding places in the garage she's just the sweetest thing.

I found a young rat in the bucket that I use to bring the chickens their food, so I gave it some food and water and closed the bucket up so it couldn't escape. Mom was going to go drive it away from the house to let it go like we've been doing with the rats we're catching in the livetraps, but she was too tired when she got home and it was raining like mad so I just released the little guy as far across the property as I could. He'll probably just go back to the chicken coop area, but it was better to do that then just allow him to die (which he probably would've if he had to spend another night in that bucket--he was totally stressed out).

I watched the first nine episodes of Natsume Yuujinchou today! Thanks for recommending it, [livejournal.com profile] kirarakim, I'm really enjoying it so far. It's such a sweet and peaceful series, and oftentimes quietly sad. The firefly episode nearly made me a little teary, and just about every episode has been a great little story. There were several others that made me go "Awww" out of sadness/sweetness as well, like the swallow one. (Though, as a silly and incredibly minor sidenote, I was annoyed that it perpetrated the myth that birds will abandon their nests if humans touch them. They will not, and most birds have no sense of smell anyway. XD) It has some silly-looking youkai in it that made me a little skeptical at first, but it only took the end of the first episode to win me over despite that. It's really a nice little series, and I recommend it to everyone who likes sweet and peaceful types of things with a supernatural twist. It's not going to blow your mind and it's not as lofty and philosophical as Mushishi, but it's quite moving and pleasant to watch. Give it a chance if you have an extra couple of hours to put into it. :)

I sent the commission details for a Haraken plush to [livejournal.com profile] junoluver today as well. 8D I feel slightly creepy as a result, but Haraken will be soooo adorable in plush form! ♥ It's as a trade for something she wanted on Y!J so I think it's working out nicely for both of us.
