Back from Fanime!
( To the people I missed at Fanime or only saw briefly )
As it always is, it was 500% AMAZING. Not only was there the usual Fanime awesomeness, but there was also...
Remember the rumor that there would be around 14-15 staff members? Well, uh, it was nice guess, but there were actually...forty-nine. In fact, nearly the entire Gurren Lagann animation staff was there, minus Imaishi and a few others. We (meaning my friends and I) found this out at the Opening Ceremonies and FREAKED OUT.
I went to most of the panels and the Meet and Greet (GAINAX looooved my Boota costume like crazy) and got eighteen drawings and autographs, including an autograph/sketch from Yoshiyuki Sadamoto. The sketches I got are all adorable and wonderful and the staff was all so nice, and...I'm in fangirl heaven, basically. ♥_♥ I can't even believe I was in a room hanging out with all those GAINAX members. At the panels, they answered just about every major question I had about Gurren Lagann, too.
Yes, I will be posting pictures of my Boota costume and the GAINAX sketches (among other things) at some point.
Also to note: was the one who asked the question that caused the leak of the fact that there will be two Gurren Lagann movies. I'm so very pleased with myself. :D
Anyway, all of Fanime was filled with awesome, but suffice to say I think GAINAX was really the highlight. Just...an unforgettable experience. All of it. :)
There was lots of other awesomeness, too, though, such as making fun of the hentai EVERY NIGHT (w-we couldn't stop going for some reason. It was too hilarious. OTL), getting lots of cool things at the dealer's room/swap meet, the Hidenobu Kiuchi panel (no autograph, though--I had nothing for him to autograph at all when he was doing them!), Anime Hell, and buying a complete stranger a piece of cake for his birthday (details to follow at some point). Naturally that list doesn't cover anywhere near all of it, but that just gives you an idea.
Ohhh man, so incredible. SO incredible. I couldn't be much happier. I love you, Fanime.
