Cosplay work is so much fun.
Feb. 18th, 2008 09:39 pmNicole and I spent the last two days working on her Anti-Spiral Nia costume. 8D I was going to start Densuke's head, but I think I need to order some more Wonderflex first. The head is going to have to be pretty gigantic so it looks proportional (because Densuke has that BIG HEAD of his), and with the limited amount of Wonderflex I have right now, I was afraid if I started it out I'd make the head too small. This would ruin the whole dorky effect I'm going for, you know? And...uh, there's no work I can really do on Boota yet. I need to go order all my faux fur soon so I can get everything done ASAP.
Anyway, Nicole and I had a lot of fun cosplay shopping and staying up until 3 AM last night sketching out the lines on the spandex in colored pencil, taping around said lines so they'd be straight, and then painting them in. The drawing of said lines in colored pencil was...awkward in a hilarious way, because Nia has lines on her butt and crotch and boobs and Nicole had to wear the spandex while I was drawing the lines on. XD Everything took much, much longer than we expected, but we worked hard and had fun doing it, so it was fine. Even working on it for most of it today, we didn't even nearly finish doing the lines, but it is looking good so far!
I LOVE working on cosplay. If anyone needs help with their costumes, let me know. I can't do much online, obviously, but if you need advice or whatever, I think I'm fairly crafty when it comes to cosplay. RL friends, I'll gladly come over any time and help you with costumes in person. Seriously, I love it! XD
I did nothing on Friday or Saturday. I tried so hard to, but ultimately picking up the phone and dialing was too difficult, so instead I sat around and caught up on one episode each of Ghost Hound and Zoku Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei and watched a little OVA called Kigeki. Kigeki was...well, it was only ten minutes long so it's not like it was mindblowing or anything, but it was beautifully animated and told an intriguing little story. I liked it. It set an interesting mood.
LOL, I downloaded the Initial D Best Selection CD and I've been amusing myself with it lately. I'm not really into Initial D (though I've seen around thirteen episodes), but it's great to turn on when I'm doing boring tasks because it makes everything more exciting with all its crazy eurobeat and Engrish. XDDD I should hold an Initial D music dance party or something, hahaha.
I need to go study for my Zoology quiz now. :< At least I only have two days of school this week! (My Zoology teacher is out of town Thursday, as she travels around judging cat shows.)
