pacificpikachu: (Dreaming)
Well, so much for doing homework or accomplishing anything today. Oh well. It was a nice day anyway.

Meme time! I was tagged by [livejournal.com profile] wao. I was going to make this amusing or at least somewhat creative, but I'm afraid it's too late for humor or creativity. ;__; So I'll just post it in its boring state.

The rules are easy, just post 10 things that recently made you happy! Then tag 10 people who may then, if they so please, choose to post this meme on their LJs. Because it is good. Everyone needs a little happiness once in a while.

1. The sunset at Graylodge was quite possibly one of the most beautiful things I have seen in my life. It didn't just make me happy--it made me nearly euphoric. Being out in nature when the weather is gorgeous and the colors of the sunset are breathtaking and the sounds of the birds and the three rainbows... There's nothing in the world like it.

2. Realizing that Fanime is coming up! It's so silly, but Fanime is always that weekend I look forward to every single year without fail. Don't get me wrong--I look forward to all the conventions I go to, but Fanime is special. It's my favorite convention and it sort of "kicks off" the convention season for me. That, and I always plan my costumes so I have them finished by Fanime--so I associate Fanime with that excitement of "Oooh, I get to show off my newest costume(s)!" A great number of my friends go to this convention, and it's just the perfect size for a convention.

3. Waking up and finding two dogs and a cat on my bed snuggled up with me. ♥ Also, how Hana chases her tail really fast at random, and then she always catches it, goes around in a few more loops while holding on to it, and then falls over. It's hilarious.

4. SEXY SIMON PICTURES. LOLOLOL SHALLOW FANGIRL. Gurren Lagann fanart. There's so much pretty and awesome Gurren Lagann fanart out there, and it seems like I'm always discovering more new stuff. ♥ Kind of a weird thing to make me happy, but...I love fanart! I wish more of my favorite series had this much amazing fanart.

5. Yoko Kanno. But Yoko Kanno always makes me happy, so this shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone. Still, when is Yoko Kanno NOT awesome? I've been listening to her Ragnarok Online 2 music while reading Vinland Saga, and the music and the manga go together remarkably well. It's especially amusing when battle-type music comes up right at the start of a battle, or the music otherwise fits the scene eerily well. And this seems to happen an inordinate amount of the time. I have no idea why this is. Perhaps it's Yoko Kanno's godlike powers. o_o

6. All of my friends, both real life and online. I know, I know, clichéd, fluffy reason. But I love how I've been talking to so many of you lately online and in real life. Long comment trains, phone conversations, getting together and having lunch together, however we interact. You're such an awesome and interesting bunch of people, and hearing your thoughts on life/anime/manga/whatever is always fun and fascinating. I only wish I could see/hear from everyone more than I do already.

7. Playing the song from 20th Century Boys (Bob Lennon) on my computer in the dining room and having my dad come over with his guitar and play along with it. Made me so happy. ♥ I wish I could somehow make him read 20CB. I think he would love it if he read it, but...uh, getting him to read it would be impossible.

8. Getting to participate in electing a President for the first time. I mean, it's just one tiny vote in a sea of millions--but I still feel empowered for being able to vote. It's nice getting to be able to express your views to your government in some way, even if it's a very small way.

9. Being able to sleep in as long as I want on the weekends and not wake up when it's still dark. Having a three-day weekend every weekend, and four-day weekends on those wonderful you-have-Monday-off holidays. Long weekends are the best! I do nothing but be unproductive, but being unproductive can be so fun. 8D

10. Knowing that, despite the fact that I am a bit overwhelmed by everything I want to watch and read, there are a number of awesome stories waiting for me to enjoy. There's nothing like a great story, and it's good to know there's so much out there to look forward to.

Anyone who wants it is welcome to take it. :D I'm bad about tagging people, and I'm sure you'll do it if you want to.

Hmmm, too tired to write much else. Going to go to bed now.
