I was so stressed about Chemistry last night that I didn't get more than two hours of sleep total. ;_; When I arrived at Sierra College, I sat around in the library for a while and then found the counseling office so I could try to work things out.
Basically what happened is that both the receptionist and the counselor sympathized with my plight and agreed in a number of ways that Burns is a downright TERRIBLE teacher. The counselor, who was very nice and had a whole bunch of wolf pictures on his wall, looked up who is most likely teaching Chemistry 1A during the Fall semester, and, lo and behold--not only is Gamel (my Chemistry 2A teacher who I get along with swimmingly) teaching it--she's teaching it at the Grass Valley campus.
So, long story short, that sealed the deal. I withdrew from this Chemistry course. It was causing me completely ridiculous amounts of stress, I wasn't doing well, and I dislike Burns and his pompous attitude intensely. It was a last-ditch effort and I'm not entirely happy with dropping a class that I put so much effort and time into, but I just didn't feel like it was worth floundering around and panicking and working my butt off for a C or D.
And when I made the decision, a huge weight was lifted from my chest. I'm actually going to have time to do things now! I don't need to constantly be in nervous breakdown mode! I can concentrate on the very doable math and Biology classes! I'm so incredibly happy.
I went to math class for about an hour and a half, but I was so exhausted from my lack of sleep that I was nodding off during the computer lecture and left a bit early. I caught a bus to Auburn, where Mom picked me up at Echo Valley Ranch Supply (baby duckies FTW!).
Despite my lack of sleep and the fact that I've been drifting in and out of extreme sleepiness, the day just started looking more and more up from there. I went to Cinderella's, the costume supply store, and they gave me a styrofoam head for free, which saved me a lot of trouble of tracking one down.
I got
hitchi's package, and freaked out because it's so filled with completely awesome things! :D THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH HITCHI! LOOOOOVE YOU. ♥ You are so incredibly sweet, you have no idea. I'm eating the pocky as I type. XD; I owe you some seriously awesome Christmas and birthday presents. ^^;
Also, I got my Haruhi figumate, which is really cute. ♥ It's quite a bit smaller than I was expecting to be, but so detailed! D'awww. Cute.
Tomorrow I'm going to do my reasonable amount of homework (SO HAPPY) and work on my Teto costume.
I'M ACTUALLY GOING TO HAVE TIME TO SEE FRIENDS AGAIN! AND WRITE AND DRAW AND SLEEP REASONABLE AMOUNTS AND--AND-- *SOBS*
