Weird dreams and sooo much Chemistry
Sep. 28th, 2006 09:43 pmI had a rather odd dream last night. In it, I was at an anime convention in a mall. This mall may or may not have been in Japantown (seeing as everyone spoke Japanese and such), but it looked kind of like the Galleria. Sort of. Not really. :/ I went there with a bunch of friends (I know Zoe, Nicole, B, Tyler, and Rachel were there, if not more people), we checked into our hotel room, etc. This part of the dream was pretty much a blur--all I really remember of it was the hotel room, and that was just a flash. It looked like our room at AX the year before last.
Anyway, so I was at this "convention". Zoe and I were hanging out, I'm not sure where Nicole was, and B, Tyler, and Rachel were nearby but would sometimes disappear. The odd thing was, no one was cosplaying, and there was pretty much no one else there. While I was there, I met Takeuchi Junko (Naruto's seiyuu). In real life, she's thirty-four, but in the dream she was in her teens and, by all appearances, seemed to be Hagu from Honey & Clover (for those who haven't seen it, very, very short, shy girl with long blonde hair), but with a really upbeat and hyperactive personality. She and I hit it off right away, and spent the whole "convention" wandering around together and talking excitedly. She spoke decent English, and I spoke Japanese, so we communicated quite well. It was funny, because you'd think I'd be talking to her about professional stuff, what it's like to be a seiyuu, etc., but instead we were talking like two normal (but otaku, of course) teenagers--about favorite anime, and stuff like that.
At one point, she went up to one place to order some food, but accidentally ordered alcohol, so I had to go correct her order. She got jelly beans instead.
At the end of the dream, I believe we swapped e-mail addresses and she was going on about some special Japanese phone line to contact her. The whole time, I was thinking "This is so cool! I'm going to be communicating constantly with Takeuchi Junko!"
Oh, and I was scared to mispronounce her family name in the dream for some reason, even though it's really easy to pronouce IRL. O_o;;
I think I woke up at that point, and was somewhat amused.
On a related note, I just found out that Takeuchi Junko voices Dieter from Monster! Hooray! Now I have another reason to remember to watch more of it. >.> Not that I wasn't planning on it already--it's a brilliant adaptation of the manga, from what I've seen.
I was very awake and ready to go when I woke up. There was a bird in our yard (not sure what it was--I didn't see it and I don't know birds very well by their sounds unless I've rehabbed them) that was singing loudly and beautifully. I imitated its song with my special bird-like whistle I taught myself to do, and we sang back and forth to each other while I fed my chickens, ducks, and pheasants.
Chemistry was even more intense than usual today, including a four-hour worksheet. Yes, four hours. Luckily, for the beginning of the day I had lots of energy, and my mind seemed to be at the top of its game. I finished the worksheet in half the time it took everyone else. :O I was astounded, because I've always considered myself terrible at Chemistry.
This type of mental overdrive came at a price, though--when I got out of school, after getting some sushi, green tea, and cashew thingies, I was so tired and confused I kept slurring my words, which is very unusual for me.
Mom and I spent a lot of today searching for new shorts today, all to no avail. My shorts are wearing out, so I need to find replacements very urgently. :( Too bad it isn't spring. Unfortunately, although we went all the way to Yuba City, we didn't find any.
The trip to Yuba City was fun, though. I'm such a country girl, to me going to a mall is exciting even though I HATE clothes shopping with a burning passion. I had so much fun in the halloween store. XD;; I love Halloween--and I need to keep an eye out for things that could come in handy for cosplay later on. On the way back from Yuba City, I went on and on about my philosophical beliefs about the place of humankind on this world. XD;;
I don't feel like elaborating because I'm too lazy to type right now, though it was fun.
So happy it's the weekend (for me)! I have a circle of two sleeping dogs and a sleeping cat around me. XD;;
