Tahoe was lots of fun, if a bit dysfunctional because Tanner of all people came with us. *Gag*
The car was so PACKED on the way there and back, you have no idea. Mom's car is a Subaru Legacy. It is designed to fit five people. We squished five people, two dogs (one of which is a big dog), and GOBS of luggage in the car. Because my Mom is all "Oh noes Ryan gets carsick D:" I had to sit in the back. Next to Tanner. Squished up with Tanner. It was horrifying. Zoe and I facepalmed about six hundred times in the car ride there.
Apparently I tainted Zoe's brain because when I asked her what she wanted to listen to, she freely responded, "Yoko Kanno. Sousei no Aquarion." This is a breakthrough because she used to get exasperated because I listen to those CDs so much. Then she downloaded them and discovered their utter brilliance. XD;; So we listened to both of the Sousei no Aquarion OSTs in their entirity on the car ride.
Mom had a bag of food she insisted on sticking on my lap (on top of the box with my laptop in it) because there was no other space for it, and as a result an avocado exploded on my laptop box. It was very traumatic because I hate avocado. ;_;
When we got there at about 9:30 PM-ish, Tanner traumatized us even more than he had in the car by throwing a downright FIT over the fact he and Ryan didn't get to sleep in the loft. Nevermind that Ryan didn't even want to sleep in the loft--he was obsessed. We had some issues with them respecting that the loft was OUR SPACE, NOT THEIRS, but eventually I guess the novelty wore of because they quit it.
Zoe and I went to Safeway with Mom to grab some food, but Zoe and I were both soooo hungry so were terrible shoppers. We wanted practically everything in the store. We did end up getting a reasonable amount of food, though, and we returned to 461 and ate said food. After that, Zoe and I took off to the dock (we saw a family of merganzers [sp?] off the dock!), held a long deep and meaningful philosophy conversation, and returned to 461 to go to bed at about 2 AM.
We slept in until around 10:30 AM, but unfortunately the boys were up earlier than that being loud in the living room, which made it very hard to sleep in. ._.;
Saturday, Zoe and I took a shuttle to go "shopping" (you know, the kind when you have no money). This was lots of fun. >D We went to lots of art galleries, walked through a few casinos (and hoped we didn't get kicked out), and then walked around stores some more.
THIS IS COOL. So, Zoe and I had just gotten out of an awesome alpaca wool store (we petted all the wonderful, soft blankets), and we went and sat down on this ugly yellow bench. JUST when we sat down and got settled, the radio went to "Dani California", which as you may or may not know, is the theme song to the Death Note movie. Our eyes got all wide and we both looked at each other and went "DEATH NOTE!" at the same time and then proceeded to freak over it for a good fifteen minutes. It was fate I tell you. Soooo awesome!
When we got back, we got sucked into a few true crime shows (one on Dahmer, one on a less well-known case) and then a program on September 11th, but we eventually managed to wrench ourselves from the TV long enough to go for an extended swim. Along with Ryan and Tanner, who randomly switched to being on our side, we played Marco Polo first in the pool and then in the hot tub, and also held races and other fun stuff. On the way to the pool, we saw a raccoon in the parking lot. It was cute. ♥
Well, when we got out of the pool, we walked all the way back to 461, only to discover we had forgotten our key, and Mom was out walking the dogs somewhere so we couldn't just knock. So we walked all the way back and got it. We took showers, and then got sucked into a comedian's show on HBO. It was really funny, even if the guy was kind of cocky. :p When that ended, Zoe and I grabbed some blankets and pillows, put them on the beach chairs on the beach, and sat out there under the stars for a while. We were both really tired and it got cold fast, so we were only out there for about an hour or so.
When we got back, we watched AMVs on my laptop for a little while, and went to bed. Ryan and Tanner woke us up early by being loud again. ._.; Today, we basically just packed and left--I don't think anything interesting happened there, other than laughing at downright stupid dating shows.
On the way back, we listened to both Wolf's Rain OSTs and stopped at Fanny Bridge to see the fish. The fish were entertaining, but the seagulls and ducks were moreso. There was this one seagull who kept lunging at fish, so Zoe and I cheered him on and hoped he'd catch one. He didn't, though. The mallard ducks were so cute!
That's pretty much it. Good trip. :) Time to go look at more stuff online/study now!
