I didn't sleep well last night, due to:

1. It was too hot in my room, even with the fan on me all night.
2. I was all worried about the pheasants and couldn't stop staring at them, despite the fact that they were fine.
3. I got up randomly at about 2 AM to change the duck water. I'm still not sure why.
4. I think my obvious paranoia about the little peepers was due to PMS of some sort. Weird PMS. ^^;;

I woke up at about 9:30 AM very reluctantly. I was extremely tired, so I basically had to drag myself out of bed. I made sure the robins and jay had food, changed the duck and pheasant food and water, and took a shower. After my shower, I began preparing the robins and jay for their final journey out of my house.

Mom came home from...chores, or whatever she was doing at about 10 AM, which made me happy because I assumed that meant we'd be able to leave for Jacqui's on time (I had to be at Jacqui's by 11 AM). Of course, then she had to go see Rivi. While I didn't end up being late, it makes me nervous when she goes to see her horse and there's a time crunch.

So, I arrived at Jacqui's and we took off for the house of the mother-daughter team who just started rehabbing. Their names are Diane and Hannah, if I'm remembering correctly. ^^; We gave them some supplies to get them started, and introduced ourselves and such. They're really sweet people, that family. I was glad to meet them. :) As part of their training, they came to the flight cage with us. First, we went down to the flight cage and I used a net to catch the adult stellar's jay who was in the cage. I stuck him in a carrier and gave him to Hannah, who gladly accepting him. They've decided they're going to take him while my robins and jay are in the flight cage, so they seemed excited. We covered his carrier with a towel and kept it right outside the flight cage.

While I caught the jay, Jacqui went in and caught the casson's finch meanwhile to take her to her flight cage.

Once my robins and jay were released in the flight cage (after Janey and Cindy showed up, by the way) and we watched them sufficiently (they were quite happy to be in the flight cage, let me tell you), we went up to the car and headed to Janey's. There, we visited her acorn woodpeckers, who have been moved into a lovely, big cage Janey's husband built, and also her beautiful, rare chickens. :DDD

After that, we headed back to the family's house, helped them get the stellar's jay situated, and went back to Jacqui's house. I released the casson's finch into Jacqui's flight cage and visited my robin (the car-hit one) and mourning dove, and then Jacqui and I sat in her backyard for a while and watched birds. Mom picked me up during this.

Mom had earlier mentioned going to Auburn, but I insisted I needed to check the duck's water before we picked Ryan up from his first day of high school, and left for Auburn. We made a quite trip home luckily, as the pheasants had completely run out of water and I needed to grab my CDs. I was also feeling tired, crampy, and a little light-headed, so I grabbed some yogurt and water in hopes of helping myself feel better.

We picked Ryan up and went straight to Auburn from there. Mom insisted on going to a tack store, where she spent a long time. I was so tired at this point I basically just sat down on a mounting block and almost fell asleep. We went to a feed store next door to grab some water things for the ducks and pheasants, and then went to Target.

Ryan and I headed straight for the school supplies and grabbed some pencils, calculators, notebooks, and such. Meanwhile, Mom disappeared somewhere and I spent quite a while trying to find her. Again, I was so tired and uncomfortable from cramps that I had to sit down somewhere and wait. She did eventually show up, though. Nearby, a girl and her mother had eight-week-old minature doberman pinscher puppies in a purse. They were soooo cute. ^_^

After concluding shopping (Mom kept snapping at Ryan and I for no apparent reason), we headed home. Mom snapped at me more in the car, but thankfully changed the subject.

I got home, played with the ducklings for a while in the bathtub (SOOOO CUTE!), worked on lighting problems with the ducks and pheasants (and ended up getting back to square one after quite a lot of struggle), did chores, put the guinea pigs out, and Mom has continued to criticize me all day. >< I'm touchier than usual because of my hormones, and extremely tired and crampy, so being criticized extensively is not high on my list of things to do, and to be frank it kind of hurts my feelings for her to be so judgmental of me. Geez, here I'm perfectly happy with myself (if a little confused and useless at the moment), but Mom always insists on making me feel inferior. ._.;

Anyway, I'm tired. I'm going to go read some humorous fundamentalist quotes on http://www.fstdt.com and go to bed. Hopefully tomorrow will be on a more positive note. Actually, today's events were quite nice and enjoyable--it's just easy to get those positive emotions tainted by harsh criticism, cramps, and tiredness. Meh.

Don't mind me. ^^;; Just grumpy right now.
