Sleep the day away
Mar. 24th, 2006 09:40 pmSeeing as there really isn't a lot to say about today, I'll just not edit yesterday's post and write about yesterday here.
Let's see...yesterday.
The weather was really weird yesterday. It was warmer than it had been in a while, and everything felt very...white. Y'know, the sky was white, and everything seemed somewhat washed-out and warm. I think the weather helped me put myself into a bit of a suspended reality. This was a good thing, because (at least for most of the day) I was able to distance myself from everything that's been going on and have an almost-normal day.
During first period, I think I listened to music, talked to Jessie, and...I don't really remember.
Second period, Sara and I did our presentation on the death penalty. It was a very quick, informal thing, so it wasn't a big deal at all. I kept forgetting what words I meant to say, though. XD; The rest of the period, I started working on my Japanese project while the rest of the class presented their cases.
PE was kind of amusing. XD I actually didn't have a note yesterday, so I had to run. ._.; Anyway, I found this shattered highlighter and proceeded to mark everyone in the basketball game. Tony and I kept talking about really weird stuff in the middle of the basketball game. XD;; Like...J-rock concerts in PE class, how Tony is apparently the root of all evil, and just utter weirdness. I puttered around the court as I am prone to doing, accomplishing absolutely nothing other than maybe being in the way.
Lunch...hmmm, just about no one was around! Zoe was sick, apparently Shannon was sick, and obviously my friends from choir were gone. So, I went to hang out in the art room instead, with Kathryn, Makayla, Ciera, and Steven. Oh, and Trevor, too, though I don't know what he was doing there. XD; Trevor apparently *still* has the lyrics to Mezase Pokémon Masutaa that I wrote down for him Sophomore year or something. O_o; I'm glad he didn't bring up Cody...that probably would have distressed me. ._.; We talked about random stuff, like usual...not much to say about lunch, seeing as I don't remember much of it.
The potluck in Art was pretty fun... There was sushi and pizza and muddy buddies (yay, Makayla!) and tons and tons of other stuff. o_o I wasn't feeling like I could handle eating too much sugar, so I mostly stuck to eating carrots and hummus. We kept having the funniest discussions about Evangelion, amd Makayla and I even did a rendition of Zankoku na Tenshi no Thesis. XD;; I don't remember what the discussions were exactly...I know they partly concerned us giving Nicole Jeremy as a Shinji boy-slave (seeing as we've concluded Jeremy is Shinji), how the EvangelionxRahXephon is such a wonderful OTP, and...just weirdness. It was very amusing, though.
English...er...we talked about poetry. Or something.
Seventh period, I went to the library (seeing as my friends weren't in Anatomy, there was no point in going) and studied my Japanese project and read Great Expectations, which I continue to like very much.
After school, Mom picked me up. She was late as usual, but because the weather was nice and I was thinking about things in a non-depressive manner, I didn't mind at all. We went by Swenson's Surplus and I got some really cute boxes that will be used as baby bird incubators once I start getting the birds in. We picked Ryan up, and then went to Roseville.
I had so much fun singing along to Japanese Pokémon music on the way down. :D
First, we went to A-1 Comics. I almost bought a Sasuke shirt, but decided I didn't really like the shirt, so I didn't. XD; Ryan and I had lots of fun running around there and I scoped out just about everything anime-related in the store. Ryan got a little kunai pen, but because A-1 is a) ridiculously overpriced and b) had mostly bootlegs of things I was interested in, I didn't get anything.
After that, Mom dropped Ryan and I off at Barnes and Noble while she went to Costco. I did my usual weird sprinting all over the school (manga, art books, bargain section, new age stuff, other stuff), and found Death Note Vol. 4 for 30% off. So I got that for $6 even. :D I looked at animal photographs and stuff 'til Mom picked us up and brought us to Best Buy.
At Best Buy, I had some dilemmas, seeing as Mom said she would buy me $50 worth of DVDs, and although Dad is going to buy me some DVDs, too, I was having a tough time deciding. I eventually settled on the Kino's Journey Complete Collection and Gankutsuou Vol. 3. I really wanted Otaku Unite! (a documentary on otaku), Loveless Vol. 2, and Now and Then, Here and There, plus all the new Ghibli movies, so I was having a bit of an overload. XD;; Oh well, it was terribly fun, and I'm excited that I got what I did. :D
Mom dropped me off at Borders after that while she and Ryan went to some random sports store, so I was lurking in the manga section for quite a while. I wanted to look at/possibly read the Saikano manga, but it was a no-go because it was in the "M for Mature" wrapper. :( Anyway, I spent much of my timestalking everyone in the manga section looking at what the fellow manga fans were reading and buying. There was another girl in the aisles who was there just as long as I was, so I *almost* talked to her, but decided better of it. Especially seeing as I had never heard of what she was reading, and it was quite obviously shoujo. XD;; So many fellow teenage girls came and went, and I began puzzling over why otaku guys think there are so few female anime fans. Most of the otaku I know are female, so it's very curious.
We went to the Galleria for dinner, and I had a Strawberry Julius, steamed rice, and this pasta thing called ziti. Mmmm.
From there, Mom wanted to go to the grocery store, so she dropped us off at Barnes and Noble again. I became addicted to this hilarious book of the best quotes of all time, and was so terribly amused by it I *almost* asked if we could buy it.
We went home from there, as it was quite late. We got back way past my bedtime, and I was starting to feel my emotions go all wacko on me again. ;_; I went to bed at about 10:30 PM, but I imagine I probably fell asleep at about 11:15 PM.
I slept pretty well, though I think I had an upsetting dream. I don't remember what it was (which I'm glad for), but I think it seriously affected my psyche and physical health, whatever it was. ;_; Tia came on my bed at some unknown time, so my feet ended up kind of squished (I mean, she's a 70 lb lab...she's not exactly tiny). I woke up at the usual time, and felt pretty much awful. I mean, physically, mentally, and emotionally, I just felt terrible.
I tried to shake off the sick/really, really sleepy feeling as I got ready for school, and I event tried to sleep in the car on the way to school, but by the time we got to my school I concluded I really didn't feel good enough to go.
So I went home, went to sleep at 7:45 AM.
I slept until past 2 PM, so I was apparently really tired. Luckily, by 2 PM, I was feeling quite a bit better in all senses, and no longer was sick. I sat in bed for a while after that, though, reading Death Note Vol. 4...which continues to be as fascinating and compelling as ever. I ♥ that manga. :D I even ate a bagel and cream cheese and drank some vitamin water, so I felt a lot better. I took a shower while Mom was picking Ryan up.
In the shower, which I have always found to be a good place to think, I began to analyze my situation again...and actually made some really interesting breakthroughs on at least why I'm so affected by all of this. It was really surprising to me that I felt so enlightened, so it'll be nice to outline these self-discoveries to Cody once he gets back. Provided nothing happens while they're on the trip to further upset me, at least. ;_; It made me feel a little better to come to these conclusions, though.
Apparently, while Mom and Ryan were out, they bought a new TV, so we spent a while setting that up. I get the old one (which is quite big, really--bigger than the new one) for my room, so I can watch anime from my bed. ♥ Moving the TV into my room sent me on an "OMG, must modify my room!" spree, so I got my bookshelf out of the garage and started moving tons of stuff into my room. This was...pretty fun, really. I even started organizing my books by subject matter. XD; I spent at least two hours doing this, before Mom got called into work and we met Dad at the hospital.
That's basically been my last two days. I keep flip-flopping emotionally, and I'm still scared/depressed/upset out of my wits, but at least I'm having happier moments for now. The situation's probably going to explode when my friends get back, though, and I get to talking to both of them. This is going to be so hard...
Here's a survey from
catystorm, because it looked amusing and I had to gank it.
