LiveJournal is about to drive me completely sane (seeing as I am already insane) with this whole ‘Read-Only’ mode. --;; Maintenance is teh ebil. It deleted yesterday’s post that I made, hence why there wasn’t one. I’m currently typing this on Microsoft Word at about 6:50 PM, waiting for it to allow me to post.
Where to start?
How about Saturday?
Ummm...I woke up and watched the Pokémon episode. It would have been a semi-average filler, if it weren't for the twist at the end of Treecko and Gulpin turning huge. O_o; And who named Professor Jacuzzi?! What kind of a name is that?! Gulpin was entertaining/slightly cute, too. I was confused/amused by Professor Jacuzzi vaulting Gulpin into the sky randomly. ^^;;
Makayla came over at some point in the afternoon, after I had watched about three hours of Naruto. She watched two or three episodes with me (they were episodes she'd already seen), and then we watched a bunch of AMVs.
Makayla still hadn't seen the last ten episodes of RahXephon, so at about 5 PM or so, we tried to start with the episode she ended on.
However, the plan was thwarted because Kathryn, Andrew, and Chris showed up randomly ten minutes into that episode. @_@ RahXephon isn't exactly the best social watching (especially when you start more than halfway through the series), so I switched to FLCL and humorous AMVs for a while. Eventually, I had to kick them out because my Dad has been funny lately about having tons of friends over at once. I think you can blame it on the burning licorice incedent with Ryan's friends.
So, at the point that they left, the RahXephonathon began. (RahXephonathon is a cool word I invented. XD)
Ah, the second time was just as amazing/baffling as it was the first time. Such a great series. Episode 19 was... ;_; again (though I've never actually cried in it, it *is* very saddening). Ayato is as sexy/adorable as ever. XD That'll never change.
We finished at about 11 PM, and were in a decidedly very good mood. That's what the end of RahXephon does it you. It's so "Awww..." and "Wow..." and I love the last little bit after the ending credits roll. ^_^ Awwww. I'm in a sappy mood right now. ^^;;
Well, we woke up the next day excited to go to the convention. As I said before, Nicole couldn't go, but Cody was planning on coming. We made a bunch of phone calls and the such, organizing what was going to happen. You may not be able to guess if you've never met me in real life (and even some of you who have), but I'm extremely organized.
And...hahahaha...Makayla and I went a *tad* insane that morning. We started watching Naruto opening and ending themes on my DVDs.
First, let me say this: I honestly do not support any Naruto shounen-ai pairings.
BUT...
In the newest theme song...*cough*...there's some...interesting Sasuke/Naruto moments. And not just them posing cooly together or anything. We're talking:
- The accidental kiss from the 2nd episode
- Sasuke helping Naruto up
- Sasuke feeding Naruto
- ...other stuff I can't remember. Eight scenes between just the two of them, all in all.
And it was all just terribly suggestive. We watched it...too many times to count, trying to figure out *why* whoever coordinates the theme song did such a thing. Because it really is...interesting.
We concluded they took a random fangirl off the street and had her design the theme song. XD;; Seems reasonable enough.
You know, I think I should say it again: I don't support any Naruto shounen-ai pairings.
However, I *do* like to joke about them (particularly our entirely random, joking, one-sided ship of Shikamaru/Naruto), so I'm slightly frightened for my sanity.
Anyway, enough about that.
Up 'til 11 AM, which was when my Mom picked us up for the convention, we kept calling Cody and hoping he could come (he wasn't sure), but his mom went obsessive over Spring Cleaning, and she kept him captive to move around cabinets and the such. -_- A bit disappointing, but oh well.
We had fun on the way down--listened to lots of anime music from lots of different series (much of it Naruto, however), and babbled about various anime series to my Mom. I'm lucky my Mom is somewhat interested in the plots of my anime, though most of them are so complex she has trouble keeping up with what the heck I'm talking about.
So, we got to the Scottish Rites Center, where the convention was supposed to be.
There was no one there.
After a moment of "WTF...are we early?" I remembered...
"Ohhh yeah! The convention was on the 12th, not the 13th!"
*Facefault*
Go me.
I am now, officially, the smartest person on the face of the planet.
It's okay, though. We all recovered from the confusion and slight disappointment really fast. Of all the conventions to miss, this was the best one. It was only an hour drive anyway, and so small it's hard to even consider it a convention. I didn't really have any money to spend, anyway. ^^;;
So we went to the Arden Fair Mall instead, which is close enough to an anime convention anyway. I wore my neko ears to complete the idea. XD I also drew the cursed seal that Orochimaru gave Sasuke on Makayla's neck, just because I'm that weird.
About three minutes after we walked in, we were looking at a booth with a bunch of pictures of random people, and all the sudden I saw a picture of Kenshin! That got me all excited. XD He seemed kind of out of place, as all the other pictures were real people.
We found a lot of anime. We spent about an hour in the Suncoast, looking at anime and manga and pocky and plushies, and came back later with my Mom. She bought me the FLCL OST 2 for Valentine's Day, as it was one of my many, many CDs stolen back in September. Nice to have it back. Makayla also bought the Director's Cut of Samurai X: Trust and Betrayal (sorry Catystorm--I got Seisouhen down, but now I can't remember the Japanese title of T & B) for $9.99 at FYE.
Mom also bought me three anime t-shirts: FMA, Rurouni Kenshin, and Anime Junkie. I'm wearing the FMA one now.
We ate sushi, too, thus making this quite a bit like an anime convention. XD We also had Go!!! from Naruto stuck hopelessly in our head (it didn't help that Makayla's burned CD of it cut that song off after the first minute), but we only knew the first few lines and shoutings of random English, so we kept singing those over and over again.
Though the anime convention didn't work out, it was a fun, anime-filled day.
When we got back to my Mom's, Makayla and I read the fanatical Christian rants on teh ebilness of anime and laughed our heads off. Some of the claims were so unrealistic that it was just priceless.
Let's see... Today was Valentine's Day! A dumb, Hallmark holiday, but we might as well make the best of it, né?
I woke up, debated over what shirt to wear, and settled on the FMA one.
I discovered something new as a result of wearing that shirt.
It looks weird to stare at Ed on your own shirt, especially when he is located on your breast. XD;; He looks somewhat homicidal/depressed on the shirt, anyway, but I kept looking at him and who knows what everybody thought about that. Good thing the picture is on the back of the Kenshin shirt and thus I can't stare at it in the middle of class.
Anyway, when I got to school (and listened to Chamber Choir, as always), Nicole gave me my valentine. Eee, she drew me a pretty bishounen! <3 Woohoo!
Cody got us Yu-Gi-Oh valentines, purely because they're so damn FUNNY. FUNNY, I tell you. XDDD;; We giggled over the text on them and had a great time. They're hysterical. I don't think I could like Yu-Gi-Oh if I tried my hardest. No offense to Yu-Gi-Oh fans, by the way. I just don't like it.
I felt a little bad because I didn't get the chance to get anything together for V-day for my friends, but I owe them each some pocky and a little present.
Anyway, first period... I didn't do the poem and felt guilty, but then neither did the rest of the class, so it's all good. XD A lot of sitting around and helping the exchange students with their valentines to their friends. Rae was working on...something...in Mrs. McDaniel's office for the whole period, so I didn't get the chance to rant to her about anything. Mrs. McDaniel treated us all to gourmet suckers. Yum. I got three of those, all in all.
Second period, we had the entire period to work on something that literally took five minutes. The boys in the class stole Mr. Ostrom's chair when he left the room and put it outside in the rain. It took him a while to find it. XD
Third period...looked at notes on the digestive system. Erin and I talked about stuff, but I don't remember what. Random anime, doubtless.
Fourth, I worked the Student Store and delivered valentines from the Link Leaders to various classes. I also got to sneak into the choir room and stay there for about six minutes. A new record, I think. XD Angela was really nice and gave Rory and I a bunch of candy. It was cool of her--especially seeing as I've only known her for about two weeks now, and only casually then.
Lunch was entertaining, to say the least. Cooper, Bryce, and Joey were...I don't know how to describe it. Wrestling on the floor about some unknown argument, but it looked about as wrong as you can get. Nicole, Cody, and I busted up laughing and couldn't stop for a long time. It was scary (probably some of the last people on earth I'd choose to do creepy shounen-ai-ish things for us on Valentine's Day), but endlessly funny at the same time. We've made a fairly new in-joke (from about two weeks or so ago) of things being a "LiveJournal moment" (meaning I'm going to write about it in my LiveJournal that night), and this was one of them.
Sixth period was Trig, and we had an icky quiz that was hard. Good thing it was self-graded.
Seventh period was awesome. Mr. Cartan just let us draw, listen to music, and he read us poetry for the entire period. I drew Tsume and Toboe (ohhh, big surprise there), but then I went completely crazy with my markers and made Tsume and Toboe multicolored, to say the least. As Brock once said, "Like a Smeargle exploded." I entitled the piece, "Kristin goes insane with her markers." I drew a Pikachu in the corner to emphasize the randomness.
I followed Cody around for a while after school, then Mom picked me up and I went to her house for a while and burned 72 Naruto mp3s onto CD-Rs. Lots of music! Naruto, as much as I resisted it, equals current obsession.
For Valentine's Day, I also got $20 from my Dad and $10 from my Grandma on his side. About a week ago, I also got $20 from my Grandma on my Mom's side, so my savings for Texas isn't going too badly. In total, I also got a LOT of candy and such (most of it from school). Funfun.
Well, I need to take a shower.
Hope you all had a happy V-day! Love you all~! <3
