pacificpikachuFinished Oyasumi Punpun tonight. I...have a lot of feelings right now, not all of them things I can easily express. I'm also somewhat confused about some things in relation to the end. Someday I want to read the whole thing again, but realistically I can't say it'll be right away, as much as I'd like to read it all again for the sake of clarification and picking up on things I missed. I'll have to emotionally prepare myself first, but I think I will read it again when I can.
As a warning, the manga gets extremely dark later in the story, so please be aware of that going into it! Dark, violent, disturbing, and bleak. Honestly, this is one of the more depressing stories I've ever read, and yet it also has these many moments of incredible beauty that took my breath away. I've got to say, despite my mixed feelings about the ending, I feel it is a masterpiece, without a doubt. I think it deserves that.
I'm so glad I decided to read it. Emotionally, I'm rather drained, though.
