Dec. 14th, 2012 11:18 pmI got a peacock today to go with my two peahens! I got him from a lady with way too many of them--she had probably around fifty! They were so beautiful and her property was gorgeous, too, but one can only have so many peafowl before it starts bugging the neighbors. (Peafowl are loud.) They kept sneaking off and hatching babies, that's why she has so many. I'm not going to let mine hatch any babies if I can help it, as I don't need more peafowl. I'm happy with the three I have, thanks.
He's only one year old, so he doesn't have his tail yet. He's mostly indigo blue, but he has white patches on his stomach because his mother is pure white. I named him Cobalt! He's penned for now but I'll let him out in a couple days (if not sooner) probably. I think he'll stick around because his girls do. I also finally named my second peahen. She is Charlotte! So, that makes Cobalt, Charlotte, and Chelsea. I'm glad I found a peacock, as I've wanted one for a while. It'll be fun to watch him gradually get his plumage in!
I absolutely love peafowl, not just for the shiny feathers and color, but I also love their body shape, large eyes, little crown-like head crests, the way they walk and run, and of course their curious personalities. They are super cool birds.
Another person came to pick out Pokémon stuff today, and another family is coming on Sunday! Craigslist has been an unexpected success thanks to the holidays. I have stuff up on Ebay, too, but it's easier to sell items in real life if I can find people to buy the items. Between some of my customers coming back after the holidays and Sac-Anime Swap Meet, I should be able to sell quite a bit!
I'll be getting another Japan box that I've been saving up items from for quite a while, hopefully in early January, so I'm excited for that! I got a decently large mystery lot that will be extra fun to sort through, and there is some other great stuff, like a few cels, doujin, etc. I also need to get some of my Eevee stuff shipped still, but I have to decide if I want to do that now or wait to get even more first. Probably wait and get more first so it can be all shipped together.
Work tomorrow, Monday, and probably either Tuesday, part of Wednesday, or both, and then I'm having my ablation.
It's still like three weeks away, but I'm so excited for Sac-Anime. I think it's going to be so much fun. :D
