Today was odd, but in a mostly good way.

Mom got a call in the morning from Les Schwab, where she recently bought tires, that she had won $500 worth of beef. Of course, she said she doesn't eat meat (because she doesn't, and hasn't since she was a teenager), so then it became a prize of $500 cash instead! Woohoo! She's going to buy herself a new computer with it, finally. We're going to go pick one out on Friday, as well as going to Ikea.

Who would want $500 worth of beef, anyway? Unless you're a lion or something. D:

I stayed busy at work, had a headache in the earlier part of the day but it went away as the day went on, and just as things were about to wind up, my co-worker brought by our mail. Hundreds of envelopes! Probably around four hundred total. I started opening them but couldn't even open them all before it was time to leave. It seriously moves me how many people have donated generously and written sweet letters regarding the chicken rescue. It's encouraging to get reminders that there are definitely some people out there who care about chickens. Not as many as I'd like, but hopefully I am helping some peoples' attitudes change about them.

The weather was weird today. Sunny, windy, and then randomly hailing for short periods of time.

I didn't write about it previously, but I went to the dog park on Sunday with Honey and Hooch. We met four other corgis there and talked to the people they own (trust me, with corgis things are in this order), and had a fun time! As I was hanging out there, I heard a familiar sound up above. The sandhill cranes were flying over in their migration back north, and their wings were flashing in the sun. Probably around fifty of them. Beautiful, just beautiful! I love sandhill cranes.

So much to do still, but I'm still working a bunch and when I get home I mostly just rest and hang out.

I did finish two SatoKasu drawings, though!

I'm excited for going to Ikea and laptop shopping for mom Friday and going to San Francisco for my birthday next week. ♥

Congrats on the money!

I don't know what someone would do with $500 worth of beef. Even for someone who does eat meat, there is no way they could eat that much before it spoiled.

I think the only food I would want $500 worth of is pasta, mango ice cream, or maybe broccoli. Or Andes mints, I guess, since $500 would practically be a lifetime supply.

Wow, congrats on the $500!! I still can't believe that I won that 50/50 raffle last year...:D

As for $500 worth of beef, I won't lie I am a meat eater. Though, there is no way I could eat $500 worth of beef before it spoiled!! Heck, the older I have gotten, the less and less I have been wanting to eat meat as it is. Honestly, it sounds more like a booby prize in my opinion. Oh well, at least it all worked out in the end...;)

The "interruption" drawing was adorable...XD

Congrats on the prize!

And I have to agree who would use 500.00 worth of beef? Where as I do eat meat, I am not much of a red meat eater so it'd defiantly be a waste.

That is really an odd prize especially now that people could probably do more with the money than they would the meat.
