Happy February!

Sorry for the lack of any sort of contact or communication! I miss my computer and mom's computer is irritating to use, so I tend to just not go online when I don't have my computer. I really should go on mom's computer at least some, but I just haven't been able to bring myself to have the patience with it lately. On dad's computer right now, but that's a twenty-minute drive away so it's not like I'm able to use it every day.

Anyway, I went to PPBA, the big chicken show I go to every year! It was a wonderful time! I scrounged up a little bit of money to spend and ended up getting some great birds.

I came home with a new record of amount of birds I've brought home from the show. To be fair, though, it's because I've lost a lot of my flock in the last year or more, so I had room. I brought home eighteen chickens! Pictures soon, as I need help naming them. Here's what I brought home:

- Six serama hens. Very pretty girls, and I was so glad that I managed to get some, as I was really lacking in serama hens.
- A sumatra hen (who has a crooked neck, so she was cheap). So shiny! I named her already, Rhinestone. The name goes well with my sumatra rooster, Royal.
- A bantam barred rock pullet. She has a broken beak, so again really cheap. I'm hoping it won't take her too long to grow it back, just because it makes me cringe seeing a broken beak. Chicken beaks have a lot of sensation, so it's sad she broke it. She seems to be fine, though.
- Bantam rhode island red.
- Bantam golden-laced wyandotte.
- Two old english game bantams. Their color is chocolate sport, apparently? They're sort of an odd off-white color. They made themselves right at home, haha.
- A pair (rooster and hen) of silver penciled rock bantams. Rooster is getting along fine with the existing five roosters in that coop, which was the main reason I was nervous to take another rooster, so it worked out.
- Silver spangled hamburg bantam, as I love my current one Porcia so much I figured I could use another.
- A really really cute naked neck/appenzeller spitzhauben mix hen.
- Two cockerels who would have been someone's dinner otherwise. One is a coronation sussex, AKA a breed that was going for $800 a pair a few years ago, and the other is a standard silver penciled rock. I took them to be Sarge's buddies, a plan that seems to be going great so far.

Anyway, it was a bit crazy to bring that many birds home, but I have no regrets. There's space for all of them and they are a lovely group!

I was hoping to get more ducks, but only one call duck caught my eye and she sold before I could get her. Oh well, I met a breeder of butterscotch call ducks there and she said she'll give me a pair, and Ryan (a poultry friend of mine) said he'll give me some black east indies hens, so that worked out fine.

Anyway, I'm just cleaning things up, watching TV, and whatnot lately. Getting my life more and more in order, gradually.

Hopefully I'll be back on my laptop soon!
