Aug. 4th, 2011 09:16 pmWoo, mom's computer magically started working (barely, but anyway), so I quickly went and downloaded some programs to get it fixed up a bit and now it's fairly functional!
Nowhere near as great as my laptop, but for now it means I can be online a little more often than before until it gets fixed.
The twenty turkeys I arranged rescue for arrived safely today! They were going to be killed by the farmer otherwise, but he was happy to give them up instead. I haven't gotten to see them yet because they're down at the Vacaville facilities, but I'm sure they're wonderful! Turkeys are truly lovely birds, I've grown to love them more and more as I've gotten to spend time with them at work. I'm tempted to adopt two of these turkey hens, hnnngh, but I think mom would kill me, LOL.
We're getting around two hundred more chickens the week after next, too. :D
My serama friend Ray visited and ended up falling for two of my cockerels, so he took them home. Now, out of the babies, I have nine cockerels, five pullets, and one young unknown left. I went to check out his birds, too, and came home with a hen he just wanted a good home for. He sold the rooster she was with, then the hens he put her with beat her up, and her feathers look funny... Almost like a frizzle. Anyway, her name is Kisses and she's doing well so far. (Kisses like the chocolate variety!)
Laptop aside, things are going well lately. I've felt good and energetic the last few days.
