Jul. 18th, 2011 12:49 amLack of updates due to being on vacation! Well, for another day anyway. It's been pretty fun, though I was tired today for some reason and didn't do a whole lot. I did get one of my cousins to watch Summer Wars with me tonight, though, and he really enjoyed it! I was sad my two other cousins skipped out on the movie, though, probably because of a lack of interest in anime. (Psh, if they had watched it they would have loved it.)
I had this weird, disturbing dream last night! More like a nightmare, I guess. I can't remember it that well now because it's been quite a few hours since it happened, but I want to write down what I do remember anyway.
mei_san and I were at Anime Expo and had a great day there. I don't remember what happened, but it was all these great things, and I was feeling very satisfied. We got in my car to drive to the hotel, which was two hours away. While I was driving on the highway, my brakes gave out and I couldn't stop my car.
I ended up steering it off the road and going off of a high-up highway into this shady area underneath the highway. Immediately I checked myself and was convinced that I was okay...or so it seemed. Soon I realized something wasn't quite right with my leg, and I started fading in and out of consciousness. Each time I became conscious again, it seemed like I realized my injuries were worse and worse. I had at least three compound fractures in one of my legs, and it was at several unnatural angles and bleeding a bunch. My other leg was messed-up, too.
mei_san was doing her best to help but there wasn't a lot that could be done.
Though I wasn't conscious for most of it, a long time passed waiting for help--two days, in fact. Finally, someone came to our rescue and I was rushed into surgery for the compound fractures. They pinned my legs and put casts on them, and somehow I was able to walk though I was reluctant to because of the pain.
mei_san and I went back to Anime Expo, but it was with sadness, for the convention was already over. Still, we went and tried to enjoy the, er, deconstruction of it and wandered around looking at cosplayers. I remember going into the dealer's room, which was shut down and the vendors were packing up.
We left the con and tried to take buses and trains back home. There were some weird methods of transportation we took. We ended up at this busy bus station where lots of other people from the con were waiting for buses away from the convention as well, but it was confusing to tell what bus we were supposed to take.
While we were waiting there, a massive "balloon" (was not really like a balloon, more like the massive, abstract shape of a woman, like a puppet almost--reminded me of the final witch in Madoka a little) had gotten away from a nearby parade, and was moving of its own free will. It caused wreckage and explosions nearby and was generally rather terrifying. I remember being mostly concerned for our safety, though--it was horrible watching the explosions and knowing people where in those, but still being relieved it wasn't us.
At one point we ended up on this chaotic bus and it drove around the city, and then dropped us back off at the same station we had been at before.
Meanwhile, another puppet/balloon/WTFever had also gotten away from the parade. This one was heavier and the shape of a man, with shoes and perhaps a top hat. With great dread I watched it coming toward us and trying to calculate its strides to see if it would step on us or not. I determined, as it drew closer, that it would. I remember closing my eyes and relaxing as best as I could, hoping it would be as little pain as possible. The shadow of its foot came over and then the dream ended.
Very strange dream. I can't even tell you how relieved I was to wake up and find my legs intact and not harmed in any way.
There are two doujin on Y!J I really want to bid on, but I think I may let them go. There's a Japanese bidder who clearly wants them, and they're only 14 and 18 pages long. T___T I just hope they show up again!
Time to go to bed. Going to hang out with the cousins more and go see HP7-2 tomorrow.
